If you must have a white PSU then definitely this is the unit for you! Putting jokes aside, the HALE90 850W is a great performer. Voltage regulation at +12V is close to 1.6%, ripple suppression is great, efficiency is high at all load combinations and most important, the unit is almost inaudible, no matter the load level and ambient. Also it features a very cool operation, thanks to its Gold rating which leads to low energy dissipation. We struggled to raise the heat in our hot box and even at full load we had to keep the heating element on for quite long in order to retain the ambient at high levels. SuperFlower proved again that it is up to the task to provide really good platforms; my only concern about their design is the lack of the Metal Oxide Varistor, a little and inexpensive component that provides protection against spikes coming from the power grid. If you purchase this unit then you should use it along with a surge protector, in order to be on the safe side. Finally, since the design is modular I would like it to have fewer native cables. For example the second EPS connector should be modular and not hardwired since very few users will use two of these connectors at the same time.

To sum up, NZXT HALE90 850W is, without any doubt, a solid performer and easily stands in the high-end category. If it had fewer native cables and an MOV then things would be even better. Also a small price reduction would greatly boost its competitivity since its stronger opponent, the mighty Corsair AX850, costs only 5 bucks more and offers a fully modular design and seven years of warranty along with similar performance. Finally here we should note that the KINGWIN Lazer Gold Series LZG-850 is based on exactly the same platform with HALE90 850W but although it is 5 bucks cheaper at Newegg you get only three years warranty with it, while NZXT provides five. So the choice among the two is pretty obvious.
