Shape

While the shape itself hasn't been changed compared to previous Viper iterations, the Viper V2 Pro physically differs from those nonetheless. Firstly, the Viper V2 Pro is no longer symmetrical, as it no longer has side buttons on both sides. It still is an ambidextrous design, i.e. one that could be used with either hand, but left-handed users will go without side buttons. Furthermore, the side buttons are no longer recessed into the shell and rather stick out slightly. Lastly, the inbuilt rubber grips on the sides are no longer present, and as a result the sides are smooth and unbroken. As mentioned, the shape itself is unchanged: The Viper V2 Pro lacks any aggressive curves, even Razer's signature front flare is absent. While the rear is notably widened, the front stays fairly slim and flares out only slightly from the middle. The hump is centered, but the gradual slope is mildly pronounced as the Viper V2 Pro keeps its profile low. Even across its width, the top of the mouse is very flat. Around the grip area, the sides curve inward horizontally, but stay mostly straight vertically. The rather deep comfort grooves on the main buttons are the only somewhat fancy shape-specific design element. Overall, the Viper V2 Pro has a fairly conservative, yet simple and elegant shape that handles well in practice.

As for grip styles, I'd say the Viper V2 Pro is mostly suited for claw or fingertip grip as there is little palm support, unless one's hands are on the smaller side. It is a medium-sized mouse with a barely pronounced hump, which makes it suitable for most hand sizes. For reference, my hands are 19 cm long and 10 cm wide, and I found the Viper V2 Pro very comfortable in claw grip.

Dimensions

This table includes the dimensions of the Razer Viper V2 Pro and several other ambidextrous mice. "Front height" denotes the distance between the base and main buttons. Measurements with two decimals have been taken with a caliper, while those with one decimal have been taken with a ruler.
