Introduction
Sharkoon, primarily known for their cases and gaming peripherals, recently released a couple of DACs with integrated headphone amplifiers under their brand. Two of these, the Sharkoon Mobile DAC and Mobile DAC PD, are aimed towards smartphones which lack an audio jack (many if not most recently released smartphones) but can also be used on desktop PCs and laptops—basically anything with a USB-C port. The third one, the Sharkoon Gaming DAC Pro S, is essentially a rudimentary, highly portable PC USB sound card.
All three DACs boast a Hi-Res Audio logo, meaning they're capable of 24-bit/96 kHz playback. They're also notably inexpensive, which is practically a given when it comes to Sharkoon's product lineup. The Sharkoon Mobile DAC has a price tag of €14.99, the Sharkoon Mobile DAC PD goes for €19.99, and the Sharkoon Gaming DAC Pro S is the most expensive of the bunch at €29.99.
