The Luxa2 LM100 Mini follows the high standards set forth by most quality HTPC enclosures. Thick aluminum, an elegant but modern design and the implementation of a VFD with an MCE compatible remote. Those are features you will find on most such enclosures above the 200 € or 300 US Dollar range. The LM100 Mini scores with its compact design and good, but simple implementation. It is by far one of the most elegant ITX solutions out there to date, while not costing more than larger full size ATX, VFD equipped HTPC cases on the market. This gives the user the possibility to use components with a low power consumption like the ION platform and build a fully functionial HTPC, capable of playing 1080p content as well as BluRay disks without raising your electricity bill noticeably.
The biggest downside is the PSU, which comes with a special connector to power the LC-Display of the LM100 Mini. If that power supply breaks down, you may be left with a 300 US Dollar case without a functional front display and IR receiver. Luckily, Thermaltake will provide a replacement cable if needed. That said, it is certainly no easy task to design any chassis, especially not a compact mini ITX one and Thermaltake has done a great job with the LM100 Mini, which deserves the spot in the Luxa² line-up.
