Packaging & Contents
The Ninja II comes in a full color cardboard box, with a handle on top. This makes it very comfortable to carry as it has the shape of a small suitcase. The front shows you how the Ninja II looks, while the back lists all the cooler's features and how the two fans are to be powered.
The outside box is rather small, while the inner white box is much thicker. Within this package you will find the notebook cooler held in place by two foam spacers. Not much else is needed for secure transportation.
The only additional item within the package is the power cord, which is intended to be plugged into an available USB port on your notebook. Vizo is aware of the limited number of such connections and has constructed the plug so that you can attach a USB device to the power cord itself.
A Closer Look
Taking a closer look at the Ninja II, the first thing one notices is the large model name printed on the cooler. Above that you will find a fine grill which allows air of the fans below to pass through.
The two fans are 60 mm in diameter and 10 mm thick. Both blow upward unto the underside of the notebook. The power plug is located on the rear to your right hand side. Some notebooks feature a USB 2.0 port in the back, which could be put to perfect use. A power switch complements the design, so that you may turn off the fans without having to unplug the power cord or anything connected to it.
The underside features no real surprises, the one notable area are the cut aways on both sides. Seems like Vizo changed the design in the last minute, as part of the rail has been removed on both sides. The sharp edges are covered with black rubber caps. These should protect you or your table from getting any scratches and they do hold in place well.
After placing a Macbook Pro on the Ninja II it becomes apparent that it is perfectly sized for 15.4" or 17" notebooks. Both these formats utilize wide screen, 16:10 displays. The ledge on the bottom of the unit keeps the notebook in place and is an actual part of the metal sheet used for the Ninja II. This means that there are no sharp soldering edges, to damage that precious portable device of yours. The Macbook Pro has an optical drive bay in the front, which can still be used perfectly fine, even with the tilt of the Vizo Ninja II.
