The Seagate IronWolf 510 is a solid-state drive in the M.2 2280 form factor, launched in 2020. It is available in capacities ranging from 240 GB to 1.9 TB. This page reports specifications for the 1.9 TB variant. With the rest of the system, the Seagate IronWolf 510 interfaces using a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 connection. The SSD controller is the PS5012-E12DC-27 from Phison, a DRAM cache chip is available. Seagate has installed 64-layer TLC NAND flash on the IronWolf 510, the flash chips are made by Toshiba. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are absorbed more quickly. The IronWolf 510 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 3,150 MB/s and 850 MB/s write; random IO reaches 270K IOPS for read and 25K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 540 USD. The warranty length is set to five years, which is an excellent warranty period. Seagate guarantees an endurance rating of 3500 TBW, a good value.

Notes

Drive:

Although Seagate has re-branded the controller as "STXYP011A88" it is manufactured by Phison and it is the model E12DC.

Controller:

2 main cores using Cortex-R5 clocked at 667 MHz with CoXProcessor technology (one additional dual-core) Cortex-R5 clocked at a lower clock for better efficience. This revision is equals to the Phison E12, the difference among these is that this revision is designed for enterprise and data center applications.

NAND Die:

Read latency:
tR: 64µs (SBL)
tR: 80µs (ABL)
tPROG withoug Overhead: ~ 695µs (Avg) (~ 46 MB/s per die)
tPROG w/ ~25% Overhead: ~ 927µs (Avg) (~ 34.5 MB/s per die)
