17.3-inch Ivy Bridge-Based Samsung Notebook Found on Pre-Order
US store J&R seem to be quite excited about Ivy Bridge because it jumped the gun and simply listed on its website a yet-unannounced Samsung notebook based around Intel's 22 nm platform. Dubbed NP700Z7C-S01US Nike, the laptop in question runs Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit) and features a 17.3-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) LED-backlit display, a 2.3 GHz Core i7-3615QM processor, Intel HD 4000 graphics, 8 GB of RAM, a DVD writer and a 1 TB hard drive backed by 8 GB of NAND Express Cache.
The NP700Z7C-S01US also packs a multi-in-one card reader, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, and an 8-cell battery. This whole package is priced at $1,499.99 and is labeled as 'coming soon'.

But I go with asus G53SX, cost exactly same and I got much better performance
Anyways, it looks like a decent machine at an unappetizing price. Sure the chip is probably a higher end one and while it may be thinner or lighter for a 17" laptop... it's not exactly thin or light. It's interesting that the pic specs differ from the news article somewhat, claiming a very low resolution (1366x768) and HD 3000 graphics (which is sandy bridge generation). My guess is the news post is the accurate one, but maybe it's an indication of the page being made prematurely (it was obviously published prematurely), or that the specs listed can't exactly be trusted.
I mean, look at it, it's pretty obvious that Samsung is trying to attract potential MBP buyers by, well, making something that looks like a MBP.
Oh and, this is obviously an Ivy Bridge update of Series 7.
Is this a laptop for lefties????
