ASUS Announces the ROG Sheath Deskpad

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced ROG Sheath, an extra-large mouse pad optimized for all kinds of gaming mice. ROG Sheath features a woven surface that gives it excellent mouse tracking qualities for smooth, precise control. Designed for the marathon gaming sessions, ROG Sheath has a non-slip ROG-red rubber base that secures it firmly to any desktop surface, and stitched edges that resist fraying.

ROG Sheath has been engineered for a smooth mouse glide, and its finely-woven surface works well with almost all types of mouse sensors to give gamers pixel-precise control. Its surface reflects its gaming roots, bearing the famous ROG logo and Mayan-inspired markings found on other ROG products. To ensure its durability, ROG Sheath has been subjected to a variety of stress tests, including a mouse glide test with a distance equivalent to over 250 km, as well as exposure to temperature extremes of -30°C and 60°C for over 57 hours.
Extra-large mouse pad for all gaming peripherals
ROG Sheath has massive dimensions: it measures 900 by 440mm, a size that is designed to accommodate a gamer's notebook, external keyboard and mouse with ease. And with a thickness of 3mm, it also ensures a comfortable cushioned surface for users' wrists to rest on. The non-slip ROG-red rubber base sticks securely to desktop surfaces even during intense gaming sessions, and durable stitching along the edges prevents fraying even after years of use.

Specifications:
  • Width: 900 mm (35.4 in)
  • Depth: 440 mm (17.3 in)
  • Thickness: 3 mm (0.12 in)
  • Weight: 695 g

Note to self: Don't buy this. Odds are I've got the type that won't work well with it.

I guess some color sensitive optical sensors would get dodgy on the red patterning but other than that it should work fine. Either way I want to get new desk carpet and this just might be it.

My table mat works exactly the same. Some Chinese knockoff crap with cute little fancy bird drawings...
