New BioShock Game Allegedly in Development

BioShock is like mom's home-cooked meals. You might remember how great they were, but you've certainly forgotten how good they tasted. It's hard to blame anyone given that the last BioShock game was released almost five years ago. And to make matters even worse, the last installment (BioShock Infinite) wasn't even a sequel or a prequel to the previous BioShock 2 game. But fear not, Big Daddy is making his comeback. Kotaku's lengthy article on Hangar 13 revealed that a secret BioShock title, codenamed 'Parkside', is under development. According to Kotaku's report:
A year and a half later, however, Hangar 13 is a far different place. This past year was a turbulent time for the studio, as it floundered while trying to figure out what its next game would be. Many of the people who helped make Mafia III are now gone, including the game's art director, technical art director, senior producers, design director, many design leads, and a number of other key staff. Some left voluntarily; others were let go or asked to move. Some went to other game companies; others moved to the top-secret studio next door to work on an unannounced new BioShock game.
Kotaku also wrote:
In the midst of all this confusion, some employees of Hangar 13 couldn't help but look with envy at their neighbors. Next door, a small group of people were working on a project code-named Parkside, quietly recruiting from across the video game industry for a game so secret, they wouldn't even tell their colleagues at Hangar 13 about it. Word got out, though, that it was in fact a new game in one of the most interesting shooter franchises of the past decade: BioShock.

"If anyone from Hangar 13 tried to strike up a conversation with them, they'd say, 'Oh, we can't really talk about it,'" said one person familiar with the studio. "It was all very tight-lipped."
Now that Ken Levine, the creator of BioShock series, is no longer behind the helm, it's going to be interested to see the story and direction of the upcoming BioShock title. The top-secret 2K studio that is allegedly working on the game is located next to the Hangar 13 studio in Novato, California. If you so happen to live in Novato, would you mind going down to the studio and ask them if the rumor is true?

Burial at Sea was a direct prequel to the original BioShock and ties the two universes together.
I realize that a fair amount of people probably never played Burial at Sea so thought I should mention that.

I still hate the unreal engine today, how ever i did enjoy the story of the 1st Bioshock, and as for Infinite that was only good if you played the DLC's.

I am looking forward of another release but i don't trust them not to DLC part of the main story which if they do i will not buy until a $15 with DLC.

Isn't that what i said ?, never liked any version of the UE. Well i did play Unreal Tournament but that got boring real fast. never mind the control system is so basic.

Twitch gaming is what that was, remember UT GOTYE had expansions, it was an Arena Shooter. UE just allows a game to be deployed with its customizations lol. UT99 vs UT3, UT99 all day, same with UT 2K4

It's going to be free to play, procedurally generated rogue-like with no story mode, instead having a 50 player Battle Royale Mode and involve a card deck powerup system that is supported by microtransactions. People who preorder 4 years in advance will get 50 free card packs, the basic game package will include only 4 of the 8 playable classes (the rest being unlocked with our in-game earned cash) while the Big Daddy edition will include the full 8, the latter of which are all equipped with a noob-tube-like primary weapon that will be unobtainable post-release. Dedicated servers will be available, but the game is online only and we'll only supported the servers for as long as the game maintains a $50mil/year income, otherwise it'll be shut down and all private servers litigated against.

Oh sorry, EA/Ubi aren't responsible for this one are they.

I remember how great 1 and 2 were. Fantastic story mode so much so that being linear wasn't even noticed. I listened to every recording.

Quality, single player, story driven games are virtually over :(. There's some indie stuff, but they're very short.

Makes me really miss BG&E.

Beyond Good and Evil. It's the best SP game I've ever played besides Deus Ex (I'm a sucker for sci-fi techy shit like that). BG&E is the best story driven game I've played. The combat is simple when it even appears, but it doesn't matter one bit. That's not what the game is about. It's kind of retro.

After I finished it, I literally sat there in awe.

2nd one i was not really in to, well the 3rd i wasn't really all that happy until playing the DLC which added what i think should of been a none DLC item. and included with the game.
