PC Teaser Trailer Released for Detroit: Become Human

Well, Quantic Dream has been on a roll launching its formerly PlayStation-exclusive titles in a remastered form on the PC platform. I hope you've been having fun with them - if you crave strong, cinematic storytelling and complicated, branching choices and dynamic narratives, David Cages' brainchilds will be right up your proverbial alley. And it seems the PC versions of the games are well optimized and have more than adequate compatibility and stability - and I might be making the ports a disservice by using those particular adjectives. Just keeping your expectations in check.

I'd say this is one of the more aspiring stories told by Quantic Dream - easily. The scenarios that play out in the course of the game are all too real (at least in my own personal view of society and our systems) not to take a look at. It's a human dream, this one game. Take a look at the trailer after the break. Detroit: Become Human will be available for the PC platform via the Epic Games Store, and is expected to drop before the end of this year.

David Cage should just quit making video games and make movies.

On the first point, it's got some elements similar but never heard they are in anyway related. On the second point you are correct, that was an amazing show and
I'd like to punch the persons in the face that cancelled the show after 1 season. Sci-fi always gets screwed over.

Liked a few of their games i even liked The Nomad Soul, although David Bowie helped to make that interesting and is very sad that there will not be another with him in it.

Anyways, all so like Heavy Rain although Fahrenheit was alright so i guess will have to see how this one turns out.

The demo looked great on my PS4 slim, they better not f up the port. Having said that, I've only played Fahrenheit and that was a QTE nightmare and more like an interactive movie. After playing the demo of this I see no wish to play the full "game". But hey, it's great to see another PS exclusive ported to PC.

This is great news ! Detroit: Become Human is among the best choice based narrative driven games ever made with great cast of characters, unique story and amazing visual fidelity, it also has a lot of endings and different branching paths for multiple playtroughs replay ability. To see this formerly Sony published quality PS4 exclusive coming to PC is so exciting.

If you'r a fan Telltale games, or narritve drievn games in general then this game should be on the top of your wishlist, highly recommended.

The game averages at 87 metacritic user score which is a very respectable and impressive score

You might want to realize that EGS is probably the main reason this release happens in the first place.

Well considering the games, those would probably be crappy as well

I'd be nice if people in positions of power understood how to use a dictionary.

In example an era isn't someone's reign of power (incorrect use in some Roman documentaries in example).

Anything titled Detroit really should be about two things: the automotive industry or fighting against the fascist dictators who have destroyed that city and all of it's industry.

On a side note it would certainly appeal to the fascists to create empathy evoking robots that appear to be sentient in order to subvert the masses. I would really like to see some story telling that comes from a mentality far greater than that of a 12 year old.

You ought to realise that NetEase, a chinese gaming conglomerate buying minority stake at Quantic Dream the developer is the reason their games are coming to PC. Epic is the reason they'll be one year exclusives to Epic Games Store.

It looks like all of Quantic Dream's titles are coming to the EGS. I just recently got a PS4, and a buddy of mine works for a Sony owned studio so he sent me Detroit. I really need to get to playing it more, it's great so far.

And by the by, I recommend people take a look at Bryan Dechart's (Connor) YouTube channel. I believe he just renamed it to Dechart Games. But he and his wife Amelia have done a couple play throughs of the game, and it's great to hear them both talk about their experience on set.

Righto. Let's wait for all those Steam releases instead ;) None of which have yet been confirmed officially (as in: written/contracted) - and when they do, hype is gone anyway, so it will be a very quiet release. An afterthought if you will.

You have to realize the market has already shifted from the publishers' point of view. Steam/Valve wasn't the ideal outlet to begin with a few years ago, and it still is not, but now there is a competitor offering a better distribution channel too - better as in cheaper, but also better exposure (an entry on EGS is sure to be looked at - negative publicity is still publicity a Steam release wouldn't get, and lower amount of sold items = higher exposure too).

But if you want to ride the Chinese influence train, by all means. In the real world, everyone can easily see there is a shift happening because digital distribution for gaming is/was a high profit margin prospect. EGS corrects that, and it is likely the other marketplaces will also gain share at the expense of Steam (they already have). And for the larger publishers, there have been storefronts for years already. This shift isn't new, but it now potentially applies to all games.

because people i think dont want "proprietary" platforms or software
inside their machines .. companys like these have good commercial reasons
to compartmentalize the gaming space, so you can be part of in their "league".
key phrases Unreal , Epic , nVidia ..does this sounds familiar?

Yep you are absolutely right. I did not like Steam when I first experienced it but that was more because I was used to my games being on media (floppy, CD<DVD). I do not understand this though as EGS to me is no different than Steam for the end user.

When the announcement was made for 3 Quantic Dreams coming to PC there was bever any mention of an exclusivity time period. It was simply announced as an EGS exclusive.

As @Vayra86 said it was EGS willing to take the risk that enabled them to come to PC. Period. So you might be waiting awhile...like forever.
