AMD Releases Radeon Software Adrenalin 20.11.1

AMD today released the latest version of Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition. Version 20.11.1 beta comes with optimization for Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War, DiRT 5, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, and Godfall. With Godfall, the drivers offer up 7% higher performance as tested with an RX 5700 XT. The driver changelog does not mention any issues fixed with this release, and only a short list of new issues known to AMD, which it's working on to fix. Grab the drivers from the link below.

The change-log follows.

Support For
  • DIRT 5
  • Assassin's Creed Valhalla
  • Godfall
    • Using Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 edition 20.11.1, a Radeon RX 5700 XT GPU offers on average 7% better FPS performance in Godfall (DX12) on the High setting, vs. the previous driver iteration, Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 edition 20.10.1.RS-348
  • Call of Duty : Black Ops Cold War
Known Issues
  • Enhanced Sync may cause a black screen to occur when enabled on some games and system configurations. Any users who may be experiencing issues with Enhanced Sync enabled should disable it as a temporary workaround.
  • Performance Metrics Overlay and the Performance Tuning tab incorrectly report higher than expected idle clock speeds on Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products. Performance and power consumption are not impacted by this incorrect reporting.
  • Modifying the HDMI Scaling slider may cause FPS to become locked to 30.

Good AAA performance changes. Video decoding in Vega APUs is fixed again after the mess that 20.10.1 was.
Zero changes to Vulkan or OpenGL. Hoping for something good in the december driver.

AMD GPU drivers are almost perfect now. I have an AMD 5700 XT since 1 year and the first releases of the drivers were rubbish, but now it's all ok!

I found it more like aging from cold medicine to barely drinkable stuff, but to each their own I guess.

Not all. Look what happened to the 290X and the Fury's. 5700 XT I can agree with.

One could argue that if the drivers were good at release, the product shouldn't need to age to be good...

Yes, mileage may vary. To me personally, all generations of AMD GPU I have had (and I've had many), stability and performance only got better with time.

Can't argue with that.

Pity. There's a Vulkan instruction that's straight up broken on Navi cards, meaning the Yuzu developers had to blacklist them from using it as it caused a driver crash when trying to launch anything. Works fine on older cards with the same driver version.

I installed it and now I am currently seeing a black screen that says power spec. Do I wait like this until it is finished or is this a bug
