XFX Teases AMD RX 6800 XT, RX 6800 Graphics Cards

XFX, via its official Twitter account, has started teasing their own interpretation of AMD's upcoming Navi 21-based graphics cards, in the form of the RX 6800 XT and RX 6800. XFX has fallen into slight obscurity ever since its NVIDIA-exclusive days, but the company still manages to hold on to a somewhat cult following for its products. It appears XFX is staying with its THICC series nomenclature for this upcoming generation of graphics cards, as the cooler shroud mostly follows the same design philosophy as that found on the company's RX 5700 XT and RX 5700 graphics cards - with some minimal aesthetic changes.

We're seemingly looking at a full-custom triple-fan design, with a shortened PCB compared to the entire shroud's size. We'll have to wait an additional one or two weeks after November 18th, the official release for AMD's next generation of graphics cards. Only a week to go.

still have a special place in my heart for XFX, just wish they brought back that "alpha dog" edition stuff, its just nostalgia.

The render is likely based on the previously-reported nomenclature for the 6800 XT - which was, at one time, XL, until AMD changed their minds.

The THICC II was a disaster - all that plastic hindered the cooling to make it the worst 5700-series choice you could possibly make. Both Steve and Jay fixed their THICC II cards by ripping all the stupid plastic off them.

Once again, XFX seem to have repeated the mistake by clogging up the necessary exhaust venting out the sides of the fin stacks with branding and plastic.

GG, losers. How long will it take you to revise this like you did with the hastily-released THICC III last time?

Raevanlord is probably closer to being correct, but it's not impossible there could be a partner-optional 6800XL between the 6700xt and (vanilla) 6800. IIRC, internally, the 6800 is Navi 21 XL, so thats where it might be coming from.
