Elon Musk Teases Updated Tesla Model S Design... That Can Play Cyberpunk and Witcher 3?

Today, Elon Musk, the founder of Tesla, Inc., has announced an update to the Tesla Model S automobile. The new car has seen a design revision for the first time since 2012, and it looks like something straight from the future. The interior has seen a complete revamp, and now it looks very futuristic and minimalistic. The specs of the car are also impressive. It can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just under two seconds. The starting price of the car is 80K USD, and it will be available in March. However, the speed and the price is not the main character found inside the car.

Tesla has announced that the updated Model S design has a new infotainment system that has a Tesla Arcade gaming platform with 10 TeraFLOPs of power. According to Mr. Musk, you will be able to play Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk on the Tesla Arcade, a new gaming platform for Tesla vehicles. Right now, it is undefined what is the exact configuration inside the new Tesla Model S car. However, it is speculated that AMD Radeon Navi 23 GPU is powering the platform. When it comes to the CPU choice, speculations are pointing out that Tesla is most likely using an Intel Atom chip paired with the aforementioned AMD Radeon GPU. All we know is that the GPU is clocked at 2.44 GHz, and possibly has 32 CUs. To play Cyberpunk and Witcher 3, you are would need to own one of these new Model S autos and the whole software stack is running locally. We are expecting to hear more about the final specifications once the car arrives in March.

I see that Tesla is playing with non-automative grade parts again.

Well, lets see how well those GPUs stand up to below-freezing temperatures in the winter and 120F+ or 50C+ in the summer (thanks to the giant glass that traps all the heat from the sun...). Even if the GPU-chip itself is designed to go to a wide range of temperatures: was the GDDR6 RAM actually designed to withstand repeated thermal stress like that?

Is the center-console still tied to critical functions like headlights and wiper-blades? If that GPU fails due to working outside of its designated temperature range, will the center-console still function? Is the solder designed to handle the vibrations / mechanical stress of driving?

You never had to do a 5+ hour drive? If I could've played Pikmin 2 on my west to east coast trip I wouldn't be such an angry person today.

IMO --- Elon should have done something with Nintendo like some airlines did (and maybe still do??) and have old NES and SNES games loaded into the infotainment system. Nothing new. Just some classic titles and arcade titles from the 80s or 90s etc etc. If they really wanted to show off they could have taken the idea to Sony too. Imagine games like R-Type, Wipeout, Tony Hawk & other games being able to run on an emulator built inside of the car? Now that would be pretty cool AF None of this AAA title BS.

That was a four day drive, but we stopped a lot and stayed with a friend. East to west was three days but we had a massive snow storm on our rear the entire time.

PIkmin 3 is on the Switch. And I'm pretty sure you can bring a Switch into your car and play it. Probably not a good idea to drive and play... but that also applies to the center-console of this car.

Most cars (even ICE cars) have an alternator and therefore you can plug your Switch into the battery (even the lead-acid battery) and recharge along your way.

Pikmin 2 is best. I didn't have to worry about running of food every day.

It would be nice to have a self driving car that allows the driver to relax and play games, just last week I completed a couple of 12 hour drives and never left the same coast, you must be from a small country.

The rear monitor in the console is useless for gaming, they need to place the screens in the back of the front seats and make them a similar size to the front screen.
One per passenger in the rear.

I think the future of regulations will be that sensors will have to be in place that the driver has to have his hands on the steering wheel at all times even when self driving enabled, and it will make all these game upgrades useless. i dont agree with that, but i think government regulations will come to that at some point.

The DOT already wants both hands on the wheel, the reason why only automatic transmissions trucks are being built today. 2 years ago, 85% of Freightliner trucks being built where autos, today its higher.
