Team Group Announces T-Force Cardea Z540 M.2 PCIe 5.0 SSD

I've got a feeling...a guess really.....that the new NAND flash coming out with higher MT/s will do more to improve the SSD experience than PCIe 5.0 will....in otherwords, a PCIe 4.0 SSD equipped with the soon to be released new generations of flash with higher MT/s will give a better overall user experience than a PCIe 5.0 SSD with the current NAND. Until SSD's show marked performance gains in random reads and writes and not just in sequential transfers, I think the upgrade to 5.0 isn't worth it except for some niche use cases.....and this is coming from someone who has always considered themselves a storage enthusiast.

Higher MT is exactly what gives you better random performance.

Also for the other comments. I don't think there is a Gen4 controller that runs at more than 1600MT.

PCI-E 5 ssd's are as useless as tits on a bull. What a waste of money, but for the priviledge you get the ame real world performance, more heat, more throttling or stupidly large heatsinks, more power usage, and extortionate pricing like it was 10 years ago.
