This Week in Gaming (Week 9)

We're about to enter the third month of the year and after last week's loaded release schedule, it appears that we're back to more of an average week of new game releases. This week's AAA title is an RPG game from Japan and we also decided to include a DLC in this week's roundup, simply because it's for a very popular game which often has over 100k PC players online, not taking console players into account.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty / This week's AAA title / Friday 3 March
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dramatic, action-packed story of a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.
I Am Your President / Monday 27 February
Play as another US president! Decide the fate of the world and run the country any way you like. Do you wish to start a war or make peace? Take care of the poorest or support capitalists? Advocate for gun rights or stand against them? It is all up to you!
Phantom Brigade / Tuesday 28 February
Phantom Brigade is a hybrid real-time and turn-based tactical RPG, focusing on in-depth customization and player-driven stories. As the last surviving squad of mech pilots, you must capture enemy equipment and facilities to level the playing field. Outnumbered and out-gunned, lead the Phantom Brigade through a desperate campaign to retake their war-torn homeland.
Destiny 2: Lightfall / This week's DLC / Tuesday 28 February
Travel to a destination unlike any you've explored in Destiny 2. Cross paths with bone-chilling Tormentors and valiant Cloud Striders, join the fight against the Shadow Legion, and prevent devastation in the technologically advanced secret city of Neomuna.
Gone Rogue / Wednesday 1 March
Gone Rogue is a stealth-action game with elements of tactical RPG. Get into the role of a thief from the city slums. Lurking in the shadows, sneak unnoticed past enemies, get behind any locked doors, and carry off rich loot.
One Military Camp / Thursday 2 March
Build your own military camp, manage the economy, recruit the best candidates and train them to become elite specialists. Send them on missions across the land to end the war once and for all!
Garten of Banban 2 / Friday 3 March
Continue the story of Banban's Kindergarten. Delve deeper into the bizarre establishment where the place was left suspiciously empty. Try to survive the unexpected residents, all while uncovering the truth behind the place, and escape with your life.

Just finished Wanted: Dead and my body is ready for Wo Long. Still have fingers crossed for a surprise DMC VI announcement later (maybe summer?) for this to be a golden year for 3rd-person button mashers.

Not my week. Still playing Hogwarts Legacy, having Atomic Heart on the schedule with a new graphics card in between. Perhaps some Far Cry 6 DLCs? I dunno...

I have mixed feeling for WoLong after playing the demo. I think I was hoping too much of Nioh deep combat system :()
