The Witcher 3: Next-Gen Patch Releases Today

CD Projekt RED has announced that it will release its new big patch for The Witcher 3: Next-Gen today, coming to all platforms, including PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. We still do not have all the patch notes but Marcin Momot, Global Communication Director at CD Projekt RED, noted that it will be around 2 GB on the PC and between 10 GB and 20 GB on consoles.

It will be interesting to see if CD Projekt RED managed to optimize the CPU multi-threading as the game was pretty hard even on high-end systems. CD Projekt RED already said it was looking into this issue, and hopefully, this new patch will address this and other issues that have been plaguing the game. We'll update the article as soon as official release notes are available.

Update: Patch 4.02 for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has gone live and should be available on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles soon. Full release notes are now available.

When Meteor Lake comes out next year, it would be cool if you could test this next gen patch Witcher 3 with that CPU. or get a minion to do it. I am curious how this new CPU usage turns out @W1zzard if you are too busy then though, that is ok. its more just a curiosity on my end

According to the patch notes it does supposedly improve core utilization.

Tested it out in the worst spots.... Novigrad and Crookback bog. I'm seeing maybe about a 10% improvement overall but my gpu is still dipping to around 70% usage in parts vs closer to 60% before of course frame gen to the rescue to give me that 100fps+ like fluidity.

If for whatever reason you want to play without this patch, you can do so by switching to classic branch in Steam game properties, under Betas.

Still waiting for them to finish CP2077.
Apparently there are plans to fix the utterly broken cops that can spawn behind you in the middle of the desert, or in the sealed elevator you're riding.
After the most catastrophic game launch of all time, you'd think they'd have fixed fundamentally basic gameplay elements like that by now...

Oh yeah with RT this game is basically a 2 thread CPU benchmark at Hierarch Square.

Why everybody seems to be obsessed with the police in Cyberpunk 2077? I played it at launch like an RPG game and it was fine.
