i know it won't happen but if this monitor launches at $799 and comes free with diablo 4, i don't think i can resist OLED any longer. my body has waited too long as it is. :roll:

They were using this Monitor on their Livestream yesterday and the Specs are nice.

$1100 which makes it the same price as the Alienware model which uses the same panel (though that has been on sale lately for $1000).

yeah I will be passing then. I plan to go OLED in a year or two, and hopefully prices come down soon. I have a couple of great monitors right now anyway so its all good.

I would love to become a BETA tester for the new OLED panels, just not at this price point, considering, the burn-in risk associated with the technology and the lack of a 5-year warranty for peace of mind.
My equipment should last for at least last for 5 years without issue.

These 3-year warranties we keep seeing on our computer equipment are really infuriating and manufacturers should really start standing behind their products.

3 year? i see 1 year on most items i buy these days, though they have lasted me a lot longer than that so far. i think its less about being confident in your product and more about protecting yourself from the vast amount of idiots that are in existence. so the warranty doesn't bug me too much

I'd love to have one of the 34" ultrawide OLEDs, but the price is just enough too expensive for me to pull the trigger without long term reliability. I have always used my displays for a rather long time (moving to secondary if replaced) so the potential for failure with the premium price just isn't worth it.

At least in the case of the Alienware it carries a burn in guarantee for that period of time as well. I'd like to see longer warranty periods as well, but it will only get worse. LG is the most egregious in having 1 year warranties on everything and it's very disappointing to not see reviewers calling them out on it.

LG actually has the more durable OLED panels vs Samsung.

That's completely irrelevant to the fact that sometimes things fail and LG provides half or a third the warranty of everyone else (many of whom use LG panels) not named Samsung (though I believe they have a 3 yr on their display with this panel).

I warrantied my LG 34GK950 whatever Ultrawide about 3 days before the period was up. Took them WEEKS to send me a new monitor. What sucks even more with these companies, is the warranty only applies from date of purchase. So they can send you a piece of shit in a box as replacement and then you're screwed. (Fitbit did this to me)
