3DMark Now Available on Epic Games Store

We're excited to announce that 3DMark is now also available for purchase in the Epic Games Store from today, June 20, 2023. 3DMark is a computer benchmarking tool for gamers, overclockers and system builders who want to get more out of their hardware. With its wide range of benchmarks, tests and features, 3DMark has everything you need to test the performance of your gaming PC.

When purchasing 3DMark through the Epic Games Store, it includes all current 3DMark GPU and CPU benchmarks released since the application's launch over a decade ago. Our latest GPU benchmark, Speed Way, tests ray-traced gaming performance using the latest DirectX 12 Ultimate API for Windows 10 and Windows 11. 3DMark offers more than just benchmarking tools. Test your system stability with stress tests, explore how new engine technologies affect visuals and performance with interactive mode, or compete for top PC performance with your friends and the 3DMark community as you chase a spot in the 3DMark Hall of Fame.
3DMark Storage Benchmark DLC
The Storage Benchmark is a dedicated component test that measures the performance of the fastest modern PC storage hardware in gaming-related tasks. It supports all the latest storage technologies and focuses on practical, real-world gaming performance.

The 3DMark Storage Benchmark DLC is a separate purchase, also available on the Epic Games Store.

They made cross-platform GPU test, but still no CPU test?

Synthetic benchmarks are useless to most people, unless you are a reviewer, but who else would waste $ on this?

The CPU portion on the EGS version will always be lower than the Steam version lmao.

Hm... available even in Russia? And price just ~$3,57? Interesting. No such honor in Steam. Let's test it! Oh wait EGS don't like Sber cards...

Shouldn't matter much, anyway. You can probably get a 3DMark key easily enough from a third party reseller.

You know this would be a fun test? Standalone vs. Steam vs. EGS overhead test

There are CPU tests integrated in the Time Spy and Port Royal 3DMark benchs.

It's very useful to debug GPU problems and to check how your computer ranks compared to similar setups. Makes it easy to see if there is something wrong. It's a great reference when you have a problem on a specific game so you can compare. It's also a great GPU stability test. I've used it countless times for this and it's always been useful. Plus it doesn't cost much when it's on sale. What's $8 when diablo IV is $70?

Yeah beats me. I mean, I can get into 5 bucks, but 35? GTFO

You can benchmark on anything.

To a point, but still why pay 8 when you can run, say, OCCT for free... or Unigine.. or *insert game XYZ*

70-8 is paying 62 bucks to play Diablo IV while benching your card instead of 78 to have pretty much the same thing

If you want to actually debug your GPU, there is GPU-Z and ingame monitoring. Synthetics to debug? That's a first...
Ranking... is mostly a cause for concern because CPU score weighs into it, you can have a subpar score with a perfectly fine GPU and then people go on a wild goose chase to find a problem that doesn't exist.

I think the primary purpose of a GPU-heavy bench is to determine the OC limits of the card, but frankly, there are better ways for that too now on all GPUs too. Its called an undervolt and/or running stock.

Yeah... physics, a CPU test that scales dramatically on core count, which is exactly what games don't really need :D

3DMark is 99% pointless today, to be honest.

They aren't cross-platform

Synthetic benchmarks are those testing just very specific tasks or specific hardware function. In 3DMark those are Mesh Shader test, PCI Express test, VRS test, API overhead test etc etc.

While tests that are Port Royal, Time Spy etc are fully game tests. They emulating gaming environment.

No. They lack proper CPU load. Its not a game or representative of it either. Its simply a fixed load on your graphics card allowing you to compare them.

What do you mean? Your comment makes no sense to me.

These are ALL synthetic benchmarks.

I test drivers for AMD sometimes swapping multiple drivers a week. I use Time Spy as a point of reference to any kind of performance changes. it certainly serves a very important purpose for me.
