This Week in Gaming (Week 37)

As we enter the second week of September the release of new games is taking a bit of an autumn break. As such, we have no huge releases to look forward to this coming week, but it doesn't mean there aren't any new game releases. Expect a rather eclectic mix of games this week, ranging from co-op tavern defence to mythical forces and umbrellas to deceit, bombs and swords.

Tavernacle! / Monday 11 September
Grab your hammers and start to craft in this co-op Tavern Defense for one to four players. As a team of Dwarves, you must gather supplies and build towers to protect your beloved brewery. Learn to cooperate to achieve victory in this chaotic multiplayer game!
MythForce / Tuesday 12 September
Inspired by beloved Saturday morning cartoons, MythForce unites swords & sorcery with gripping 1st-person combat in a new roguelike adventure. Brave the dungeon alone or join forces with friends to take on an ever-changing Castle of Evil!
Gunbrella / Wednesday 13 September
Gunbrella is a gritty noir-punk action-adventure set in a world dependent on a rapidly diminishing natural resource. Fill the rain-soaked boots of a gruff woodsman on a quest for revenge, entering an unfamiliar town armed only with the titular Gunbrella, a high-caliber firearm that doubles as an umbrella.
Super Bomberman R 2 / Wednesday 13 September
The latest title of the party battle games series Super Bomberman R! With new adventures and game modes, it has the largest content volume in the series' history! The game features not only offline battles that can be played with family and friends, but also online battles that connect players from all over the world, as well as a single player mode.
Deceit 2 / Thursday 14 September
Deceit 2 is a 6-9 player social deduction horror game where two among you have been Infected. Whilst the Infected do the Game Master's bidding, the Innocent must work together to escape the Ritual whilst deducing who is plotting against them. So who can you trust?
Wandering Sword / Friday 15 September
Wandering Sword is a Chinese martial-arts RPG where you play a young swordsman caught up in a feud and nearly dies. Escaping the event puts you on the path of pursuing the highest form of martial arts and exploring the pugilistic world to become the great hero you are always destined to be.

Ok, so Wandering Sword is the Chinese copy of Octopath Traveller ... that's right ?
That being said, it doesn't seem to be a bad game at first sight.

MythForce gets my vote this week. I'm not into co-op games, but love the visual presentation. And Tavernacle looks fun to play, those rat pirates are hilarious!

I tend to say the best hidden gems of gaming are found among indie titles, but this week, I'll pass.

Thing i'm a total sucker for:
PVE coop
tower defense
dwarves

i'm sick tired of non-coop pvp cod-kiddie trash.

Thus i'm interested in tavernacle... maaaaaybe mythforce but not super sure about that one
