NVIDIA DLSS Support Coming to More Games, Including Diablo IV, Portal with RTX, and others

Over 500 RTX games and applications have revolutionized how people game and create with ray tracing, NVIDIA DLSS and AI-powered technologies. Today, we're unveiling even more RTX games that will deliver the definitive PC experience for GeForce RTX gamers. At GDC 2024, we're announcing several new exciting integrations of cutting-edge RTX tech! In Black Myth: Wukong and NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, we're working with our partners to incorporate Full Ray Tracing and NVIDIA DLSS 3.5.

In Portal with RTX, our free, fully ray-traced reimaging of Valve's classic game, DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction and RTX IO are now available, further upgrading its technology, graphics and image quality. Diablo IV's ray tracing update arrives March 26th. Star Wars Outlaws will launch with DLSS 3 and ray-traced effects. The First Berserker: Khazan will launch with DLSS 3. And Sengoku Destiny introduced support for DLSS 3 earlier this week.
Black Myth: Wukong Launching With Full Ray Tracing & DLSS 3.5 August 20th
Based on the well-known Monkey King mythology, and the 16th Century Journey To The West novel, the Unreal Engine 5-powered Black Myth: Wukong is at the top of many people's wish lists thanks to the release of jaw-dropping trailers in recent years.

To take Black Myth: Wukong to the next level, developer Game Science is upgrading the game with Full Ray Tracing, which will be enhanced by NVIDIA DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction on GeForce RTX PCs, giving GeForce gamers the definitive experience in this eagerly anticipated game.

Full Ray Tracing is a demanding but highly accurate way to render light and its effect on a scene. Also known as Path Tracing, this advanced ray tracing technique is used by visual effects artists to create film and TV graphics that are indistinguishable from reality, but until the arrival of GeForce RTX GPUs with RT Cores, and the AI-powered acceleration of NVIDIA DLSS, Full Ray Tracing in real-time video games was impossible.

Enabling Full Ray Tracing in Black Myth: Wukong sees environmental effects and detail taken to the next level. Reflections on water reflect all surrounding detail. Water caustics add further realism, accurately rendering the refraction and reflection of light. Fully ray-traced Global Illumination ensures lighting indoors and outdoors is pixel perfect, darkening areas where light is occluded or doesn't reach, and realistically illuminating the world by bouncing light. And in concert with the lighting system, contact hardening and softening fully ray traced shadows are cast everywhere, rendering the smallest of shadows from leaves and pebbles, and those from geometry-rich buildings, the main character, and the gigantic bosses that must be overcome.

Take a first look at Black Myth: Wukong with Full Ray Tracing and DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction in the new trailer below.

NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Adding Full Ray Tracing & DLSS 3.5
Developed by 24 Entertainment and published by NetEase Games Global, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is a 60-player melee-focused Battle Royale in where players can experience a unique fighting gameplay, combining fast movements in a large environment and a deep and intense melee combat system based on combos, parries, and counters.

Each week, NARAKA: BLADEPOINT is one of the top 10 most played games on Steam. Having previously added DLSS Super Resolution, DLSS Frame Generation, and NVIDIA Reflex, 24 Entertainment is now upgrading NARAKA: BLADEPOINT with Full Ray Tracing and DLSS 3.5 with Ray Reconstruction.

Global Illumination, Reflections, Ambient Occlusion and Shadows will all be enhanced with richer, more detailed Full Ray Tracing, which will be further enhanced by DLSS 3.5's Ray Reconstruction technology. Take a first look below in our new, exclusive NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Full Ray Tracing & DLSS 3.5 Gameplay Trailer:

With Full Ray Tracing enabled, the player's surroundings are perfectly mirrored on water, the environment is naturally and accurately lit, shadows fall realistically across the world, softening as the distance from the shadow caster increases, and the realism of every game element is enhanced with high-fidelity ambient occlusion shading.

Initially, Full Ray Tracing will be available in three Player versus Player and Player versus Enemy areas, with further areas receiving upgrades over time.

Portal with RTX DLSS 3.5 & RTX IO Update Available Now
Portal with RTX reimagines Valve's timeless classic using full ray tracing, also known as path tracing, to accurately model the real-world properties of light, and how that light affects every surface and object. Illumination, shadows, reflections, refraction, and everything in between are all a result of the fully ray traced world and their interactions with upgraded assets, adding dazzling detail and dynamism to levels and effects.

Today, the free game upgrades to NVIDIA DLSS 3.5, leveraging its AI-powered Ray Reconstruction technology to improve the fidelity of full ray tracing, and the responsiveness of dynamic lighting effects. And with the introduction of NVIDIA RTX IO, texture loading times are accelerated, and the file size of the game has been reduced.

Star Wars Outlaws Launching This Year With DLSS 3, Ray Tracing & Reflex
Later this year, experience the first-ever open world Star Wars game, Star Wars Outlaws. Star Wars Outlaws will invite players to experience the Star Wars galaxy like never before through an original story set between Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. As the Galactic Empire relentlessly pursues the final defeat of the Rebel Alliance, the criminal underworld thrives. Fans will play as cunning scoundrel, Kay Vess and her loyal companion Nix, as they attempt one of the greatest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen. Seeking the means to start a new life, players will join Kay and Nix as they fight, steal, and outwit their way through the galaxy's crime syndicates and join the galaxy's most wanted.

NVIDIA has collaborated with Ubisoft and LucasFilm Games to deliver the definitive PC experience for Star Wars Outlaws players, leveraging the game-changing technologies of GeForce RTX GPUs to enhance graphics, accelerate performance, and make gameplay even more responsive.

From day one, GeForce RTX gamers can activate NVIDIA DLSS 3, multiplying performance with DLSS Frame Generation on GeForce RTX 40 Series graphics cards, and boosting performance considerably with DLSS Super Resolution on all other GeForce RTX GPUs.

Powered by new hardware capabilities of the NVIDIA Ada Lovelace architecture used in GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs, DLSS 3 generates entirely new high quality frames, rather than just pixels. Through a process detailed in full in our NVIDIA DLSS 3 article, DLSS 3 combines DLSS Super Resolution technology and DLSS Frame Generation to reconstruct 7 out of every 8 of the displayed pixels, multiplying performance even in CPU-bound scenarios.

Additionally, all GeForce RTX gamers can activate NVIDIA Reflex, reducing system latency in Star Wars Outlaws. System latency affects the time it takes for actions to occur in-game - the lower your latency, the more responsive a game becomes, and the better the gameplay feels. Available in over 100 games, Reflex is used by over 50 million users each month, and with there being no downsides to the tech whatsoever, it's a must-have for gamers wanting the most responsive experience possible.

Star Wars Outlaws is built using Massive Entertainment's incredible Snowdrop Engine, enabling the developers to create the most detailed Star Wars experience you've ever seen, with perfectly recreated ships and iconic locations, and stunning worlds for you to visit and experience.

As part of our collaboration, Star Wars Outlaws on PC is also being enhanced with NVIDIA RTX Direct Illumination (RTXDI) and ray-traced Global Illumination lighting, taking visuals to the next level. RTXDI figures out the most important light samples in Star Wars Outlaws to cast physically accurate ray-traced shadows. Performance remains fast thanks to RTXDI's innovative design, and on GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs ray tracing gets even faster thanks to each card's fourth generation, super fast Ray Tracing Cores.

Even if you don't have a GeForce RTX PC or laptop, you can still enjoy Star Wars Outlaws by streaming it from the cloud with the same technologies as GeForce RTX 40-Series owners, including DLSS 3 and Reflex, thanks to NVIDIA GeForce NOW Ultimate. Members can play over 1,800 of the real and full PC versions of games they already own from Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox, Ubisoft Connect, and GOG.com. Head over to the GeForce NOW website to learn more.

We'll have more to share about the PC technology and features of Star Wars Outlaws closer to the game's release, so be sure to stay tuned to GeForce.com.
