    I was always surprised this sort of thing didn't become evident to me sooner than it did. But yes, mind and body are more one in the same than some realize, and what happens in your abdomen does affect your mind and vice versa. They are part of one big system, after all.

    I can speak personally. I had a gut problem recently. And with it came totally unsolicited dread... of the highest possible order. No source. It was just there. But over the course of dealing with it, I got on probiotics and completely changed my diet. I feel like a different person, mentally. It's kind of startling, though not unwelcome.
