Tomb Raider (2013) Definitive Edition is hidden away on Game Pass with hardly any fanfare at all. It's a big graphics upgrade and the difference with the OG is noticeable.
And it's still very much worth another playthrough!

It wouldn't be TR without the obligatory skeletons :)

I really can't believe the Steam/GoG did not get the graphics update. I plan to get a game pass soon though, just waiting on Mobo to sell so I can get the Steel Legend, then getting game pass for a few different games. I will definitely make sure to do a replay with this upgrade before it expires.

I honestly prefer the raster version. It looks more natural in the inside of a room with a couple sun rays coming in, and the overall dimness of being inside a room with light, instead of just a single dot of circle light in center of room, that is so unnatural imo, I have never that irl...

meh everyone likes different things I guess. I prefer the darker suit in the raster version too.

the floor looks better in the path tracing one though, I give you that. I think that's just bad coding though, I seen plenty of clean wood floors in games before on raster. lol

If you wanna be fooled by Nvidia - believe this.

You can see some Skyrim's mods with pure Rasterization as this one.

Screen Space Reflections are very grainy, the more a game use SSR the more grainy it looks. Same thing with Cyberpunk 2077.

Nah I wanna be fooled by AMD that I had to rely on mods to make a game look better, instead of some graphical toggles

The main problem here is the rasterization on 1080p and 1440p is maxed and doesn't need faster cards, and all manufacturers jump on the RT train.
Only 6-8k resolutions need more power, but they are not suitable for 27-32 inch monitors.
So they need gimmicks such as RT to sell new powerful cards.

The problem here is not that you need mods, but just better textures if you want games to look better and not crap as your screenshots.

RT play mainly with the light.
You put up a screenshot with crap textures and tried to convince us that one looks better "because of RT" which is a false statement.

I will give you a hint: it's not texture, it's SSR or Screen Space Reflections vs RT Reflections, haven't seen SSR mod in your life?
AMD convinced you that SSR is all you ever needed?
Too bad AMD can't even handle 4K with SSR in Alan Woke 2 LOL

Yes, RT reflections are better than SSR, but they are a lot heavier.
And if you try to tell me that 71 FPS is a huge more than 53 FPS, I can tell you that both are lower.

Difference between 71FPS vs 53FPS is that one is playable while the other is not, well according to my standard.

So, no one who doesn't have 4090 cannot play the game by your standards? :D

Still continuing FF VIII Remastered on PS4. Not gonna do every sidequest (at least yet), I'm missing only 2 GFs (Tonberry & Doomtrain).

I really can't believe the Steam/GoG did not get the graphics update.
I actually downloaded it on PS4 as I have PS+ Premium. Need to revisit those rebooted TRs some day. :)

My friend and I finally finished Sons of the forest. That futuristic city sequence was awesome, and the ending is funny. We play maybe once a week, so it took us months. Since we missed 2 artifacts, we might try to get those before picking some other LAN friendly game. Solafite gilded katana is ridiculously OP, same as my glider tower that can get you anywhere fast, with a proper altitude gaining technique.

I got this on launch day and it is fun! Enjoy!

I am 100% buying Dredge since they had some crossover events with this game.
Ha ha, great minds....I bought Dredge at the same time. It's next on the menu.
