Won't add any of those. Both seem to be a flop going by Steam rating counts. Will add Spiderman Remastered, but only when doing the proper 13900K test bed setup, no time to make any game changes this round.

NFS Unbound also requires teh horrible EA launcher, even on the Steam version. It's Frostbite engine btw

Waiting for benchmarks. Curious of the performance. I wonder how much the vram bandwidth will give the RDNA3. I think the RDNA2 was vram bandwidth starved. Probably on purpose so that RDNA3 can look better? It is just a guess.

Pretty much where I expected the 7900s to fall. So many fanboys stupidly expecting AMD to pull a rabbit out of the hat when there is zero indication that would happen (no, RDNA3/MCM doesn't magically make something faster, sorry). And Ada/Hopper is such a generational improvement in performance that even matching it was always going to be a challenge. The 7900 naming scheme is going to look very silly when the best they can compete with is the 4070s.

Well be a combination with aib partners with a dual bios option that would be ideal.

You can easily tune your GPU into ECO-like mode in AMD Adrenaline software. It's not an issue.

There are literally three buttons in GPU tuning section: "quiet", "balanced" and "rage". Can it be any more simple than this? Honestly...

Having a card with dual bios with each their own clocks and fan curves, with one being an quiet/econo mode is a 5 minute hassle I would like to have.

I agree with those who wrote the 7900XT seems to have a terrible value as well as the 4080 to their big brothers.

No gpu is bad if it’s priced accordingly.

I don't think AMD's RT numbers are going to be great.
If you genuinely care about the half-dozen games that are so DXR-heavy you need an RTX card, then you've probably already bought one.
I'm still waiting for that high-def RTX upgrade that doesn't run like ass, 4 years+ of RTX card ownership now...

Rumours on twitter are this Navi chip needs 400w+ hit high enough clock speeds to tie or beat the RTX 4080. Seems like the silicon didn't work out as well as they hoped to get voltage low enough at high clocks.

May explain why Firestrike score is more impressive than Timespy, GPU is pushed less with DX11 so clocks can be higher with 355w limit on the reference. Probably AIB models with 400w+ will have much better performance.

I'm inclined to think that 3DMark is the issue here. The 4080 vs 4090 results aren't scaling properly at 4K either, where any CPU/RAM bottlenecking ought to be at a minimum.

Either way, I'm patient enough to wait another 48 hours for real review embargos to lift before making any judgements at all - It's not like I can buy either card yet anyway.

Small typo at page 4:

The RX 7900 XT measures 26.7 cm in length and 11.2 cm in height, weighing 1.533 kg.

It's 27,6 cm, at least that said AMD in its presentation and in the image you provide we can see more than 27 cm long.

Completely new here, really contemplating XT or XTX
Currently running a overclocked 8600k at 5ghz with a 1080..
You guys think this cpu would bottleneck the XT ?

And what about a I9 9900k would it bottleneck a XT or XTX you guys think ?

not tempted to upgrade the whole system yet, Just up to a used 9900k so i dont have to replace the MB yet.

you can get a 12400 + motherboard for cheaper, and the 12400 isnt nearly as memory-sensitive

If the RX 7900 XT barely outperforms the RX 6900 XT, I'd call it uber fail.

not failure, but later, they can get MORE pre binned chiplets, and from that they squeeze more juice, why you think they have so massive headroom for OC? even with mid-range chiplets?

Just ordered this yesterday. I thought this would be lighter than my Gigabyte RTX 3070 Ti as the 3070 is about 5 cm longer but the 7900 XT is heavier
