I'm quite taken by the improvements made with RT on the RX 7900 series (with R9 5900X), I mean, I can actually run Crysis Remastered at 3840x1080 natively + RT, with 'Can it run Crysis' preset and still net >70fps. That took my breath away, because when I'd tried it with similar setting on my 3900X + RX 6900 XT rig, it result in more or less a stuttering mess. At >70fps, I don't need FSR, not that the game has FSR anyway....

Does the hardware RT actually work for you in Crysis Remastered? When I launch it I get a message that NVIDIA driver with a version number xxx is required for RT and it fallsback to the software RT implementation.
Read up about it sometime ago and it seemed like common issue, but maybe they fixed it.

I've read that it does software RT for AMD GPUs, whether it's as good as those on nVidia RTX cards, I can't say, but it does look pretty impressive.

Anyone already watercooling their 7900 XTX im kind of wondering what kind of temps to expect under what ambient and size radiator.
Especially hour long gameplay with hwinfo running and then min and max values for all temps shown.

my 6900 XT hottest if pushed was 70c hotspot on water with 22c ambient running silent fan profile

I am watercooling a 7900XT and I have it running at 2925 MHZ. The temps will get into the low 50s and the hotspot would be 70. Yo[u could see some spikes up to 78 C but the card should never overheat. You will notice a huge amount of heat transfer after Gaming for an hour or so.

Yeah sounds about right for what if seen 76c but i am quite sure i can keep it at 70 maybe even 65c during the winter, my 6900 XT was usually 66 to 70c peek hotspot but only hit 55c this winter at times then it started getting hotter recently and hitting 70c hotspot temps again and that is with maybe 19 18c room temp
Same graphical glitches i had on 6900 XT now also on 7900 XTX.

I owned multiple 6900XT over the course of time.
I still own this 6900XTXH OC Forumula with which I broke the OCing records in January last year.

Now joining you all here with ASRock Radeon RX 7900 XTX Aqua OC.

Just ordered this thing today and waiting for delivery.

I was looking at Timespy chart after 1 year.
Amazing that my Golden Sample Asrock OCF 6900XTXH is still 3rd in the list with Ryzen 5950x.

Time to part my ways with this beutiful card soon.
If my 7900XTX performs well then, some lucky guy on eBay will get this 6900XTXH.

So here is the nice little thing.
It arrived today and is already running in my system.


ASROCK 7900XTX Aqua

I did some quick Time Spy Benchmarking and already got to the top of the list with a 5950X processor.
I think there is still headroom for getting higher results.
This was just a quick try.

So did some further testing and I was able to increase my Graphic score to 35k.

Top place for 5950X and 17th place with respect to all other processors.
Many of the top places are covered by i9-13900k.

Just reached to top of the table with the Time Spy graphic score with my 7900XTX Aqua.
I could clock the GPU up to 3375MHz peak.

My windows is broken gimping performance to a point any overclock does nothing unless doing speedway which scores 7028 tops, i have no idea whats going on but clean install without updates works best

I have an extra windows 10 on different drive just for benchmarking.
It's clean with no Software installed expect for drivers and some utilities that I need for benchmarking.

For gaming I have Win 11 and that contains all other Software that I use.

Had a bug with the 23.3.2 driver where it didnt boost to normal speed but hang at 13-1500MHz GPU speed a restart did the trick and havnt had the bug again - any one else encountered that bug?

If seen people report same issue on windows 10 some recent update or combination of apps is causing this i think, i suspect the later cos if managed to up my scores closing even power toys which i use for fancy zones, i wish windows 11 did allow this out of the box

I'm trying to limit the card's TBP in classic 3D games as much as possible. I managed to bring it down to about 120 W with undervolting and underclocking the core and applying V-sync. The 7900XTX isn't close to being fully utilized, even with the lowest core clock and voltage possible. At this point it looks like the memory is the main power hog. But the VRAM clock slider can't be adjusted below the default 2500 MHz. Why wouldn't they allow for a manual underclock?

I don't think that is possible.
In 6000-series there was MPT (More Power Tool) that allowed to tune lot of things like these but unfortunately with 7000-series AMD blocked that in the driver's.

I have mine 7900XTX since two weeks.
It's a damn good water cooled ASRock Aqua model.
Clocks above 3.2GHz in games without EVC.

Had already lot of advanture with it.
Spilled liquid on it while changing thermal past and thought it was dead as it started giving Blue screens/Black screens.

Then washed it with Isopropanol and dried it for 2 days.
Now it is working fine and kicking again lot of performance.

To me the radeon has the sexiest cooling I have ever seen on a card
