I just purchased a Ardiyes RX 580 graphics card and it has a 6 pin power connection. I was wondering if it was standard. I see most have a 8 pin connector

These Chinese counterfeits get weirder and weirder by the minute

No, it's not normal, but it's some franken build made off mining scrap on some hardware recycling sweatshop in some Chinese backwater, if it works, it works, if it doesn't, bin it and buy a card from a reputable vendor like Sapphire, Powercolor or Yeston - better yet, go team green.

It looks squeaky clean, it also came with a little USB thumb drive with the drivers on it, I hope it works.

They usually just reuse the GPU core itself, sometimes the memory chips (assorted condition). PCB is "new", although not necessarily built with good quality components or intended for that exact GPU core. It's a mess, really. But I hope it works for you

Update
Took the heatsink off and took pictures of the PCB. Looks like two memory chips we're added and can't read what's on the gpu chip.

Took up close picture of gpu, seen this on outer part, AMD M779x.00

No, those werent added. They put hot glue to prevent solder joints beneath the memory chips from breaking.
Memory brand seems to be Hynix due the position of the QR code on the memory chips.

That number is not the part number. The part number is located in the red square:

From what I can see, the gpu part # is Z15-0276406

Is it a RX 580 ?
I think 215-0876406 is written on the GPU. Its a Polaris chip which are often used on RX 470 mining cards and on Chinese RX 580 2048SP cards.

Jesus Christ this one is probably one of the worst counterfeits I've ever seen I cringed irl when I saw the hot glue in the memory chips

The worst part in it it's most likely gonna work for longer than the RX 580s are around by now.

I've seen a lot of 6-pin Uncle Cheng RX 570 and "580 2048SP" GPUs and all of them despite looking worse than crystal meth addicts' teeth they work flawlessly, even years after the purchase. With one or two exceptions amongst dozens of them.

wait, you bought something like this and you expect finding the right bios and trying to reflash it to get it back
it's kinda irony of today era

With the right help, I hope too

I'm pretty good with computer stuff, not so much with graphics cards
To provide you the correct bios we first need to know which memory is on the pcb. At this moment I recognize it only as Hynix.
Is the part number on the memory for example H5GC8H24AJR or H5GQ8H24MJR

Some legitimate brands use glue on the memory chips or GPU for some cards too

Some examples

Some of this 7700XT's memory chips

Some of this 7900XT's memory chips

This 4060 Ti's GPU corners

This 4070's GPU corners

The first pic is of the AMD Polaris chip, the other is the Ardiyes RX 580 Gpu chip. Not the same.

This is a RX 580 2048SP aka 570? 6-pin should be totally fine for that. Wikipedia also lists 2048SP's TDP as 150W which is the limit of the PCIe connector + a 6-pin connector.

I personally like the idea of reusing working GPUs instead of scrapping them and selling them cheaply as "new" cards.

Its discoloured due heat. They are both Polaris.
