Cooler Master V8 3DVC CPU Cooler with Vapor Chamber Announced

Heatpipes as are vapour chambers (based on the same technology principles) are know and proven to transport heat from point A to point B at the most efficient and fastest way, but I doubt that the statement of Coolermaster in using Superconductive Composite Heat Pipe Technology is a scientifically proven fact.

If they (they = Coolermaster engineering team) managed to use superconductivity (even in a composite material) at room temperature, they will change the world as we know now it :laugh: , just read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superconductivity.

So, in my opinion it is merely a marketing phrase to impress the less technical educated mass with technical mumbo jumbo and to deriviate financial gain of it. This is substantiated by the previous sarcastic posts :roll:.

Nevertheless an air cooler capable of dissipiating 300 Watts of heat is still impressive despite of what eveybody thinks of it's aesthetics. There will peeps who love it as well as peeps who hate it.
All I want ot see now is how it performs against the competition with an open mind and a fair judgement on capacity.

Sadly the thermal displacement does not mean anything, D15 is rated for 220W and Dark Rock Pro 5 is rated for 275W(?), but both perform identical. Also we don't know how they calculated it, Anandtech have test where they put the coolers on top of heating plank and the big coolers like D15 keep 29C over the ambient under 340W load, while U14S is 36C, but both perform very close when they are used for CPUs. The D15 have big spreading area which in real world where the only bottleneck is the termal transfer from the tinny die to the coller, does not mean anything, The 13900ks/14900k show that 400W CPU can reach ~120C, nothing compared to the below photo with 340W load. I also will wait for reviews, until then, I аm skeptical and expect nothing

V12 never made it to manufacturing, only V10, V8 and V6 were what CM released.
Yeah, seems the fog of time did confuse me on this. I went back to old sites and articles to check and what I thought about when mentioning “seen in a few builds” turned out to be a somewhat later V8 GTS.
 
So much "technology" and they're claiming that it handles 300W? Any 360mm AIO does that, as well as most high-end tower heatsinks nowadays. To impress me this thing would need to handle a continuous 450 W load, then it'd handle a i9-13900KS or 14900K unleashed.
 
If you ask me it is a regression in CPU cooling. The advent of AIOs ushered in a new freedom in working in your PC.

1. No longer have to use a flashlight and screwdriver to push down on the latch to free the GPU from it's slot. (I know some MBs have a button now)
2. Use whatever RAM you want and easily replace it.
3. Be able to access the top M2 slot easily
4. Not absorbing heat from the GPU backplate when Gaming.
5. Do not need 3 hands to install on the MB.

There are situations where you should use an Air Cooler but that is if you don't have the space for an AIO. I know people talk about the fear of failure and they do fail but I have a Cooler Master Nepton 280mm that is currently cooling a 5900X mining 24/7. I bought that cooler when they were new so good on you Cooler Master.

3. how often you need to acces top m2 slot? i touched mine last time when i was building pc
4. thats not true.. or its is partialy .. if you have rad on exhaulst, you absorb all the heat, if you have it on inteka, its much worse, because gpu get hotter air ...
5. ? what..am i just gifted or what?i have just 2 hands and i never called my mom to help me with building

AIR is easy to maintain and less parts to break .. so thats why i like air

And it would have to be thermal superconductivity, which has been achieved in a lab but is far more exotic than electrical superconductivity.

3. If you have AM5 and got a 5.0 drive to replace your 4.0 OS. Your M2 drive gets gremlins.
4. If you have a Water cooled GPU yes but air cooled I am talking about.
5. Air coolers can have a much more involved install process vs AIOs.

Yes Air has less parts but vs an AIO you are only talking about the pump and as I said before my Cooler Master Nepton 280 still cools a 5900x.
 
I vaguely remember seeing the V12 in a couple of builds. I think it was a decent-ish performer at the time? The V10 was indeed an abomination that I did see in some PC stores, but never in actual use by anyone. I kinda dig the idea, but, as always, cooling the memory sticks is almost useless and contorting the entire cooler into… that just for that purpose was absolute insanity.
God, has it really been 15 years already?

The most useless part of the V10 was the TEC plate that was implemented in such a way that it does absolutely nothing.
