Hi, I was wondering

I had Corsair Dominator Platinum (2 x 16 GB) 6200 CL36-39-39-76 cards
Worked fine at 30-36-36-36-56.
even 28-36-36-36-56, but not stable as I remember.

I took new Corsair Dominator Titanium (2 x 24 GB) 7200 CL36-46-46-116.
And they only started at 34-36-36-36-66.
there and there 6000 speed, processor 7800x3d, when Platinum were standing, the processor was 7700x.

I thought because the chips can work at 7200, then at 6000 timings will be good, well, the same as the Platinum 30-36-36-36-56 at least, but in the end I got 36-38-38-66, as I understand it is because of the fact that the chips are larger volume?

I'm using a translator, I hope it's correct.

They are using different DRAM ICs for one reason. The 16GB can be a number of brands, but probably those Corsair Dominator Platinum are SK Hynix M-Die or A-Die (2GB). The 24GB is either Micron or SK Hynix, but is most likely SK Hynix M-Die (3GB) because of the 7200 MT/s bin.

SK Hynix 3GB scales up very well, but it does not scale down that well in primary timings.

For example, no matter what you do, CAS 26 is the lowest SK Hynix will go (besides XOC stuff). That does not mean your 6000 MT/s CAS 26 = 9000 MT/s CAS 40, or the other way around.

By the way, is this possible because I left the RAM voltage in auto mode?
It’s just that on platinum in auto mode there was a voltage and everything worked fine at 30 36 36 56, there M die

I assume XMP auto ? I don't see JEDEC 1.1V would be possible at 7400.

These primaries like tRC, tRP need to be higher. Does not scale linearly either. Like for example 32-45-45-90 could work but not 32-36-36-90.

Easy way to cheat is to do like X-48-48-115. Drop CAS as low as it can go for the voltage you want .Than the next two. Etc
