I believe Folding@Home does COVID-related research as well, and can make use of much more powerful computers. @phill can confirm.

I've honestly not tried with a phone, I'd guess the battery would die too quickly and the phone could over heat from the CPU being pegged at a 100% as they seem to get hot when having a 'game' on them for 20 minutes.. Just guessing/presuming a little at this point but anyone who can confirm differently please do let us all know

I do feel phones aren't the best way to go for this sort of thing

Indeed. I haven't gotten it and not getting the shot as it's not 100% as nothing ever is. We are only humans. Again I've gone to stores Etc and haven't even wear a mask back in 2020 so

It depends on the device really, I've done some wcg with my old phones, Note II & 4. The note ii got very hot and I ended up using a usb fan to keep it cool whereas the Note 4 barely even gets lukewarm. They're obviously very slow to process but given enough time it starts adding up, with my Note 4 it takes about 14Hrs per 4 wu's IIRC.

No way I could do this with mine since it's a flip-phone and even if it's capable (I doubt it), it's only used for the basic 3's of phone service these days and that's for calls, voicemails and the occasional text.... That's it and nothing else.

Stick your phone on an old AM2 or something heatsink with it plugged in. I had to do that when my new phone was trying to fry itself.

iphone came from China and I cleaned it before use so technically I already fought viruses no app needed just alcohol wipes :cool:
