Hello,

I own a Gigabyte Auros Master RTX 4090.

I was wondering if I could use a different program (other than gigabyte control center) to manage the 4090 and OC it safely
What BIOS version is recommended for that card ?

Also, is there a tutorial on how to OC my 4090 safely ?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

yes.. sure. Use MSI Afterburner. it's a lot cleaner and better.

and there is nothing to change with a different bios... don't touch it.

more core clock until it's not stable anymore. (flickering artifacts, crashes)
more memory clock until it's not stable anymore. (Artifacting, broken geometry, flickering textures)
maybe a custom fan curve if the card gets hot.

Most 4090s are going to give you 5-8% more performance max but 100-150 more watts of power usage it's honestly not worth overclocking. Mine does 150 core/1500 mem stable at 20-21C ambient with 75% fans speed and the uplift in 99% of scenarios unless Riva tuner is your favorite game to play isn't noticeable.

I would defiantly use afterburner and honestly the risk is pretty minimal regardless because voltage is locked down if you damage your card it was likely already faulty and pushing more juice mostly likely exposed that. Out of the 20-30 cards I've used over the last decade never fried one overclocking it as always do it at your own risk though.

Im just looking at the gigabyte control center for the first time and Its not bad... Which ever oc utility you prefer... I dont think it matters. Just be careful with voltages.
