Currently got a set of Steelseries Arctis 3 , and while they work fine, they sound awful, hardly any bass etc, ive got a cheap ass pair of 9.99 Sony headphones that sound way better.

only requirement being they need to be white, don't mind wired or not, budget of roughly £100 / $120 ish

Was looking at Corsair HS80 i think they were that seem to get good reviews. but tbh ive no idea when it comes to headsets, its more so i dont disturb the other half while playing, as PC is in same room as main TV

Do you want a gaming headset or a quality audio first headset? Do they need a mic?

Gaming headsets at that price range aren't geared for bass'y high quality audio. They're more aiming for crisp clear sounds.

its for bit of everything really, gaming, listening to music, youtube on the PC etc , would just like a better bass sound, the Arctis 3's sound horrible for everything to me, considering they was around 80 when i bought them, and they dont even compare to a 9.99 set of Sony's that are several years old.

Not bothered about a Mic really, never actually used the mic on these other than to test it works and set it up.

Benchmark Scores None, but I think they'd be fairly decent.
I've had a pair of AKG K701 for years and haven't really ever found anything to distinctly better them, despite several shoout-outs with more expensive, borrowed things from Sennheiser, Audio-Technica, Focal and others. Very neutral, lovely midrange and as much bass as the recording offers, but no more - which is how I want it. Very highly regarded by both owners and press if you read around.

The regular price is a bit over you budget, but 'tis the season for Christmas sales.... I got mine for roughly £100 a handful of years ago, so it should be possible.

OP needs closed back headphones. Open backs are a no go if he doesn't want to disturb the other half watching the TV.

Depends entirely on how easily the missus is disturbed and what volume he listens at.

If you just want “more bass” you could go for one of the Razer offerings. Those offer nothing BUT bass. But they sound awful otherwise.

These are a good shout though, though the Beyers can a bit out of your budget range depending on where and when you buy. I would personally also throw in the ATH-M40. It has a more well balanced sound, IMHO, than the ubiquitous M50x. HarmonicDyne Athena, if you catch on discount, can work too. There is also, as far as bang for the buck is concerned, the Moondrop Joker. It has a bad rep due to having a very… let’s call it weird sound signature out of the box. However, they respond great to EQ and are actually incredibly capable in terms of drivers, so if you want to go down the EQ route they are an option.
That’s not to mention IEM offerings that usually will give you much more for tour money in this class. The headphone market is fairly woeful below 150-180ish.

DT770 Pro's treble is quite bright at times, gets worse as pads wear.

If you like energetic bass the Sony MDR-1As have plenty.

Would you consider IEMs? You can get a much better bang for your buck with IEMs. I bought some $50 IEMs and they're amazing for music AND games. Great bass and since they seal, natural noise cancelling.
