Hello, I have a problem with my HP i5-5200u laptop. The problem is that when I open a game, it turns off by itself. It's like the laptop lost power and I tried everything by updating Diver, updating the bios and nothing helps.

Given the age of the laptop. it might be a good idea to blast some compressed air in the cooling assembly (while the laptop is powered off) to clear out any dust build up. It could probably use new thermal paste too but that could be beyond your skill.

Worst comes to worst. take it to your local laptop repair shop and tell them exactly what you told us and let them deal with it.

Thank you friend, I really appreciate your response. The problem is that I am from Cuba and in my country there are no such workshops. I know that my laptop is a little old but I have also maintained it, cleaned it and changed the thermal paste. and yet the laptop continues to turn off and it is not due to overtemperature because they are within their temperature parameters

Maybe this program will help me solve my problem

My bios is an insydeH20, F29 but it seems that the manufacturer has the menu in the bios blocked or something like that because I don't get the "advanced" menu and it doesn't let me configure anything

Jeez HP locks down critical bios settings? ugh... can you please take a pic and show me that?

at that rate I'd look for a modded bios to have the options you're supposed to have back!

@murdymisiek knows some about modded Insyde bios here since he has one on his lenovo y50-70

This bios configuration is the latest update that appears on the HP website but it doesn't let me configure anything in it. It would be a good idea to be able to find a modified bios. Thank you very much for your help

It would be very helpful if you could help me find a modified bios that works for my laptop. Or where should I look?
