Uh quick disconnects always restrict flow more than normal tubing?

My apologies I was joking as this felt like one of those threads where you just buy top-tier products and watercool them

What kind of photo/video editing do you do? What software do you use? The only issue I see here is not using cuda, but maybe that’s less important to you/isn’t something g your software supports.

You should definitely go custom for your cpu cooling if noise is a concern and since your watercooling the GPU already. I’d also go for the airflow edition of the 4000d both for temps and noise.

I have used Adobe, and there is a Canon software package that was/has been the primary way I was handling M2TS files before they became more popular, handbrake to transcode and sometimes upscale older video. GPU assistance can help with some effects but CPU performance is far more accurate. I have digitized some media for work, or taken DVDs and transcoded them small enough that they can be emailed or shared.

I did the high end hardware years ago and its lasted through some minor upgrades, and I have been so busy with life and sinking money into remodel projects. I finally can build a new machine that will do everything I want and more for another 5 or 6 years I hope.

Do the quick disconnects restrict flow?
Nope. I use them with a D5 for my test systems and a DDC for my personal computer.

I have used Adobe, and there is a Canon software package that was/has been the primary way I was handling Mk2 files before they became more popular, handbrake to transcode and sometimes upscale older video.
Once Adobe Lightroom started supporting Canon RAw, I stop using that POS Canon crap. I would highly recommend just using Lightroom for direct import if your doing photo work.

The order in the loop shouldn't matter too much as both components will be hotter than the liquid when under load.
Personally I would go all custom loop and not do the AIO for the best fit and aesthetic possibilities with the case and the shared heat dissipation of both rads on the same loop.
If you want to be able to service the CPU and GPU without having to drain the loop get some quick disconnects too and plan your tubing runs for the eventual GPU upgrade to liquid.
Don't forget to setup a drain valve too.
I forgot to mention a caveat to liquid cooled GPU with quick disconnects is if the GPU block also has RGB you will need to remember to disconnect the RGB cable too!

Its all arrived except my samsung 990. Im hoping to have it assembled and start stress testing it by Friday, maybe be ready to order liquid components next week. I looked up my pump and it was installed in 2008. 15 years of service and still no issues.

I suggest against ASUS right now for AM5 if you want top ram speeds. But it's possible the newest AGEAS update fixes all of that. Enough people have posted ASUS problems, it's hard to recommend as a top choice ATM.
I wouldn't suggest Asus period at this point. I have a Tuf B550-PLUS and KO RTX3060ti that are driving me nuts because the RGB defaults to rainbow cycling whenever the machine loses power. Had to buy a UPS because of it, but I still see this crap when I cut power for cleaning and such.

Lol.

I will stick with my Harmon Kardon and Polk reference series.

I have started contemplating some in ceiling speakers for the sunroom where the hot tub is though.

I lament the decline of expansion bays in new cases :(
As do I. I got a Fractal Pop XL Air for my 5900X / 3060ti rig, but am finding that the heat this setup gives off aggravates a medical condition I have. Now I'm looking into possibly setting it up as a cloud gaming server.

So. with current BIOS installed memory training accepts 6000MT 30 36 36 36 38, the last one tRAS is specified in the XMP profile as 102, I haven't had any memory issues yet. Am I screwing up or is higher better?

Wow. You have an AMD PhenomII CPU. That is 11 times less computing power than my phone's Snapdragon 888.

Other than this I have nothing else to add to this thread. Hope you don't think I'm trolling. At least you have remodeling money for the house, which is much more important

It’s what I have used, but the new 7800X3D is running stress testing right now. It’s still a pretty quick system.

No tune beyond memory.

Just started on GPU tuning and reducing to 950Mv caused a driver hang/crash, at 975Mv 2950 Core clocks were common at 67C

1692319866764.png

A little tune to the GPU at 1000Mv and 2750 on the Memory, not sure why it shows 3000Mhz, but there is also a Fast Timings option that I enabled.

It really does, but I also wish it was a better game. Horizon Zero Dawn is also one of those games that can knock ones socks off.

The gameplay mechanics seem a bit clunky, like they have put too much together, I thought TW3 was a bit clunky but it feels much smoother than this.

So how is the XFX Merc? I'm almost tempted to buy it, price drops puts it at the same price level as a 4070ti...

Encountered my first wrong colored pixels at 3.2Ghz on the GPU at 1075mv and slowing memory clocks didn't change it, RDR2. Reminded me of overclocking old cards. Then the game crashed. Then Catalyst crashed as expected. I didn't get a screen shot but tiny blocks of green and red pixels appeared. I had the fan at 75% just pushing it to see how far it would go so I get an idea of what a block is going to do, and I don't have to fly out till tomorrow afternoon so I had a few free hours.

Cheap SSD causing system hangs that DON'T show up on latency mon.

My C drive Silicon SSD power shows perfectly healthy, but during testing copying large files from another SSD or the mechanical disks it hung the system for 12 seconds, during the copy of 120GB 4000ms response for this disk wasn't uncommon, and completely frozen OS waiting for the disk to respond. I have seen a lot of threads with everyone blaming a lot of things.

In the image shown I'm copying my steam library from the C drive to the D drive, a twin Silicon power SSD, writing should be slower, but the D drive is only partially busy while C is showing 100% use. I have checked its format, and partition offset, they are both correct. I will swap cables shortly to ensure its not a bad cable but I believe this drive is going to fail soon.

Probably off topic here, but WTF is up with Windows 11 and its lack of media player out of the box, lack of support for .mov/HEVC/.265
