Hooded Horse and Slavic Magic are delighted to announce that historical city-building and strategy game Manor Lords is available in early access via digital platforms across the world!

With over 3 million wishlists on Steam alone, this highly anticipated game presents players with a vibrant and detailed world inspired by 14th-century medieval life. Featuring a high degree of historical authenticity and a rags-to-riches setting, players will be tasked with growing a humble village into a powerful feudal city. Manor Lords mixes organic city-building systems with intricate production chains that feed into a real-time tactical combat layer where the workers are also the warriors.

To celebrate the release, Manor Lords along with the supporter DLC will be available at a discount for the first two weeks after launch:
  • Manor Lords - 25% launch discount
  • Manor Lords Artbook - 20% launch discount
  • Manor Lords Soundtrack - 20% launch discount
The packaging format of the Artbook and Soundtrack may vary depending on the platform.

Manor Lords is available in early access for PC via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store for an RRP of $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99/ ¥4,980, as well as other regional prices. Please see SteamDB for more information. Hooded Horse endeavors to set a fair price where possible across all regions based on local economic factors.

I'm looking at Farthest Frontier to offset this and then find some relief that not everything has turned to shit.

That game's at v0.9 now and it feels better than most city builders I've played in my life. The whole dynamic around combat can improve further, but the city building itself, the management of it... absolutely awesome. But then this is made by Crate. A real studio with real dedicated people, self managed and built on experience and with a very strong track record based on Grim Dawn.

Manor Lords seems to have a bigger scope. Not entirely encouraging, because bigger scope and less to show for it except a lot of marketing isn't a good starting point. It generally means bad project planning. I kinda smell it here. Project planning > marketing. We've seen Cyberpunk, it fell into the same pit. Marketing to offset poor project planning, and effectively, make the poor planning end up in the final product with features cut, overpromised, or just not working.

Still... the concept looks good. Fingers crossed...

Manor Lords is also made by a single dev. It's unlikely it will be able to fullfill expectations. More probable it will end up in the same basket as Banished - a nice, playable tech demo / proof of concept.

Farthest Frontier is one of the best city builders out there and it still has a lot of room for improvement. The economy works properly unlike Shitties Skylines 2.

Manor Lords is developed on Unreal Engine, meaning with the system cursor fixit works out of the box with UEVR.

Some interesting mix, between Stronghold, Lords of the Realms, Mount & Blade and Anno. Looks nice, but claiming it's "Out" is an exeggeration. Same applies for all early access games. I've thought people have learned the bitter taste of paid alpha testing, from the decade long practice, and countless of scams and dramas. The DayZ Standalone, and BF2042 should have been enough, to repel thousands of players immediately.

I've played 12 hours and I think I've seen all there is to see thus far. It needs a lot of work to get to a finished game. As a demo it has promise and feels more authentic and logical than most builders. I like that it moves away from grid building arrangements. I'll put it down now but I am concerned that development on the game will be super slow. I won't pick it up again until it is in a finished state so maybe never. Hopefully Greg can now afford to bring in others to speed development.

Kind of looks like a more in depth version of Mount & Blade games.

Blah blah, for me something where I don't have to jump like ping-pong and shoot, a calm game, good graphics, atmosphere, I don't look at any errors or imperfections yet, it's early access, but it's still good.
