New Bios Update available for ASUS R9290-DC2OC-4GD5 (not double post for reference R9)

So can anyone confirm that the updated Bios helps in the performance or does it really decrease performance? ( radeon 290x )

I'm not sure about this bios, but I flashed the sister X version Bios and no issues at all, card rocks!

My card came with the flashed bios and it sucks big time!

According to the OP the original vbios image is as follows:

"Please note that the Bios version reads the same in GPU-Z however the build date is different and post flash they have slightly altered the device ID at the end original bios 67B1HB.15.41.0.2.AS03L after flash 67B1HB.15.41.0.2.AS04L"

Looks to be in the TPU database here

Always make backups of the original vbios image: use GPU-Z
Example:

Select: Bios Chip Icon
Select: Save to file [VbiosName.rom] [**keep a copy in a safe place]

Note: flashing an incorrect device ID may brick the vga card

looks like a new vbios update for the R9 290 DCII OC

after one day testing i noticed some strange things. if i open a youtube video in 1080p the card fires all way up and the temp went from 33°C up to 70°C

in some games like arma 3 it runs perfect at ultra settings. before i got some flickering. with the new bios its all gone.

standard 3dmark test goes from 12420 to 10380(new bios)

FAN MOD of 113-AD63300-103 version
New BIOS:
67B1HB.15.41.0.2.AS06L (113-AD63300-103)

Current fan profile looks like:

Temperature Hysteresis = 6°C
First temperature = 50°C
Second temperature = 90°C
Third temperature = 110°C
Fan speed (for first temp) = 20%
Fan speed (for second temp) = 55%
Fan speed (for third temp) = 80%
Fourth temperature (max temp) = 110°C

So we have over 95c in load.
sentye helps me to edit BIOS with next settings:

Temperature Hysteresis = 6°C
First temperature = 40°C
Second temperature = 60°C
Third temperature = 85°C
Fan speed (for first temp) = 30%
Fan speed (for second temp) = 75%
Fan speed (for third temp) = 100%
Fourth temperature (max temp) = 105°C

After flash mod-bios 75c in load.

Before you flash it, don't forget to make a backup of your original BIOS.
