I was hoping you could fly the massive freighters yourself. Turns out they are called on demand. Too bad. One of the biggest downsides are the ships really. If the game is positioned around gathering resources and space travel, wouldn't it make more sense to bet EVERYTHING on space ships? You start with that tiny little fart can and you upgrade up to massive interstellar freighters, destroyers, carriers, building stuff on top of them like defense systems, autonomous defense fighters etc. That would be so badass flying around, gathering precious cargo and then defending it from random events like alien pirates or other hostiles. And the small space crafts in the beginning would only be able to evade such enemies, but not engage them, allowing balance without punishing you by throwing stupendously overpowered enemies at you in the beginning.

YES.and the centre of the universe should have been very hostile, environmentally and NPC wise - requiring a big ass ship (or a small fast/stealthy one and luck) to get through.

I have played for a few hours, it got boring pretty fast. Minus all their lying and shit, the game actually just isn't that fun IMO.So how many of you have actually played the game? I personally find this game a little dull after a couple of hours playing it!

There's not necessarily any need for that. You can still go i5. The difference would likely be in the instruction sets of older versus newer.will get a core i7 to replace it soon

Yeah forgot about that but again GoG Galaxy is no different. Even without Galaxy you'd still be downloading the latest version. It's been on GOG too, since day 1, so, it's possible he may need to apply patches if he has it there.

YES.
I tried out the base building. It's a nice system, you can get kinda creative and it has a little progression by having 4 different "research tables". The only research that is worth anything is agriculture and construction. Construction is more or less just to give you more options for building your base after a short time though, getting those options is done. Agriculture is good for growing rare plants that generally aren't found on every planet at once, in one place. The entire update is pretty much rendered futile though, with no end game and wasting a journey to the center to start over again. I mean, you're building, growing gathering stuff for what? The game desperately needs actual goals, narrative and NPC's in space and on planets that actually do something.
