I have just purchased a PNY 4080 Super XLR8 and the power limit is fixed to 320. I have seen some information online about flashing another card's bios on to your card to make it work.

I guess my concern is I have always been leery about flashing a bios because it can brick the card, especially a bios that is not for the card. Has this changed?

I read some information that Nvidia changed it with Ampere, but I figure I should come here and ask the experts. It's probably not a good idea and not worth it, but I like to tinker.

You are going to gain very few fps more. It's just not worth it. I went down the road of flashing my tuf oc asus super 4080 and after all was said and done I saw like 4 fps more.

Just not worth it to overclock at all anymore. Unless you are trying to set records in 3dmark or use your system for benchmarking only and nothing else. Just forget it. The gains are shit.

Also the vrms on your board probably cannot handle the increased power through put that the other cards bios does. They have better hardware...that is why they have more power. You card does not have the increased capable hardware from those higher running power boards. You'll see failure probably in the long run. For what? 3 or 4fps? Really?
