add Mobo and ram of your choice to cart. and price will automatically change on CPU.

Microcenter just price adjusted me too since I just picked mine up two days ago.

That is an absolutely shocking price for AMD's best selling AM5 chip.

Insane deal for people building new rigs, even if Zen5 and ARL are just around the corner.

especially considering 9900x3d will be around $499 MSRP or $449... but with the way of the world, also minerals and such just had major price increases two days ago, new PC hardware is probably going to go up in price because of it, maybe even a $529 launch price.

Im not seeing that. I go to the microcenter website and the price is $349.99 and the only bundled motherboard they show on the page brings the price to $479.99 with a Gigabyte B650 motherboard.

You have to add it all individually to your cart. Pick any mobo you want, even open box items, add it to cart. Add your ram to cart, then add the 7800x3d to cart.

The price will adjust automatically in the cart, but only when all 3 items are in the cart.

also, I have been experimenting with the cart - and apparently if you add the white version ddrr5 6000 cl 30-36-36-76 of the T-Group Create Expert ram, it drops the price by another $20, but the black version of this ram does not drop the price. no idea wtf is going on there, but there you go

At this price even if next gen turns out to be a larger than normal jump in performance you are still getting amazing value.

I'm jealous. That's just insane.

It honestly is insane. I don't really know how Microcenter is making a profit on this. I guess they are just hoping people buy the overpriced items they have everywhere at checkout. They make you go through a little maze before checkout, and its just filled with overpriced junk and like $14 magazines... I guess a lot of people suck at that kind of impulse control? It has never tempted me personally, never bought a single thing in checkout, I guess a lot of people are that way though. I don't understand it. lol

I must fall into the impulsive buyer category since I always need another screwdriver, magnetic telescoping rod, micro SD card, or 20 more 8gb USB drives.

Seriously though, I might drive a few hours to mine this weekend since the deal is basically free mobo and free ram with CPU.

It's a loss leader. They make profit off everything else, ie. the bundled other parts and... spur of the moment stuff. Ever noticed the stupid long check out aisles lined with a bazillion throw away junkets? Anyways, the cpu sales have always been loss leaders and its how they drag us all into their stores.

drive safe friend, put on an audiobook or chill music and take it nice and steady -

The highway scares me personally. I am really glad I am only 25 minutes away from Microcenter.

ddr5 6000 cl 30-36-36-76 brand new for $82 I feel is also a loss though. lol its so damn good. and yeah the checkout items never tempt me personally, but I def can see how that works well for them.

Used to work at a MC years ago. These items are more or less being sold at cost, not so much loss leader as a no-profit leader.

Trick is a lot of other stuff is fluffed quite a bit, and MC is essentially betting that by coming to them for the core components, you'll pick up the other stuff since you're there anyway.

The fact that these deals are in store only sort of tells the whole story.

I remember people basically making MC trips an event and leaving with a cart full of stuff that I got my little commish sticker on.

Was a fun job.
