Hello,
I am planning on buying new thermal pads for my gpu since the It's getting pretty hot while gaming for around 10min or so. It goes up to 85C at 97-100% load, I haven't done any overclocking on the card. The Idle temps were around 27C-29C few months ago now they are 34-36. The fans spins at 100% at 65C but the temps are still high. I have two fans as intake and 1 as exhaust in my pc. I was thinking of purchasing the Gelid GP-Ultimate 0.5mm pads, the stock pads thickness of my gpu is 0.75mm. I am not sure which thickness pads to purchase since some people says that gelid pads squish down and some says to buy 0.5mm it . I would really appreciate any info on this.

Specs:
intel core i3-9100
Gigabyte h310m d2vx si 2.0
Sapphire Nitro+ Rx 580 8gb
2x 8gb 2666mhz
Thermaltake Toughpower Gf 650W

I had a Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 before and +/- 85C under load should be considered normal. Idle temperatures are also fine.

Are you sure this isn't caused by a driver update?
