Thermalright has a cheaper option for phase change (paste replacement for CPU's that is solid until it reaches 45 Celsius) and it cools and lasts slightly better than paste apparently too. Another TPU member told me to put in the freezer for a few minutes before applying it, as it will be easier to apply slightly cold. Thermalright also has instructions on the product page, the bad reviews I am guessing are just from people who did not follow the instructions.

Only $4? count me in.

I love the name too, makes me want to play AC Odyssey :rockout::rockout::rockout::rockout:

Looks interesting!

I was only able to find one review of it, and it was a random YouTuber, and it showed Frost X25 idCooling thermal paste beating the phase change by 2 celsius, but I don't know how much I trust the testing process of that video. Also, Frost X25 is nowhere to be found for some reason.

I'm probably just going to play it safe with my tube of mx6, it hasn't failed me yet, so eh. For $4 though, its nice to have a little novelty item like this, and I might do a test comparison myself if I ever get motivated this summer.

Found it on Amazon for those interested;
There are two different sizes. I would need to go with the 40x40 variant for my CPU.
Edit:
Also found this;

6700K is not supported without bypasses. Try Rufus anyways.

You only need TPM if I remember correctly for enabling VBS+HVCI (which the 6700K does not support), which is marginally more secure but can impact gaming performance 10-15% according to Toms. Strictly unnecessary for the average user IMHO.

My sig says it. i7-6700K.
Yeah, that CPU is not supported by Win 11. See the following;
That TPM module will not help you. To run Windows 11 on that CPU you have to use a bypass. Rufus is the best but not only method.

Strictly unnecessary for the average user IMHO.
Very true. The reasoning for the methodology microsoft is using is red-herring.

I ordered a original Lenovo part number this time to be sure I should receive the product I wanted yet again I got f*** over :mad:

I ordered part no. 01YN156 which is correct on the box
20240510_121339.jpg

I open up the box and find part no. 01YN155 on the new display panel for my L14 G2 :mad:
20240510_121420.jpg

From Lenovo's own listing on the machine type the low power option they put in T480 and up to L14 G2 is the 01YN156 which is the Innolux N140HCG-GQ2 panel but they suddenly are sending out BOE NE140FHM-N61 panels which ain't low powered from what I can read or sRGB and ain't the same quality as the Innolux panel.

I know the contrast ratio on the BOE panel is 1:1500 where the Innolux is only 1:800 which is the only advanced I can see.

Innolux N140HCG-GQ2 panel specs: https://panelook.com/modeldetail.php?id=41388
BOE NE140FHM-N61 panel specs: https://panelook.com/modeldetail.php?id=38601

I will return this product in anger because honest this ain't fair listing one product and don't even tell the product is replaced with something worse ain't fair at all or am I wrong?

Hm, my old laptop with an i5-4210M worked fine with its TPM... :S

Use TPU with phone on sideways ;) works on my iPhone in that way :)

Correct Windows 11 work fine on older hardware, it's just their lame requirements because some older cpu's did get TPM 2.0 so not sure what MS is thinking.

Think of it this way. With the 5950X, you have another 5800X to use to help out.

I have 4K monitors so I don't need that much CPU horsepower ;)

Yep, it is actually for his wife who has a Youtube channel. Should help with the encode speed over her Skylake (or is it Kaby Lake?) laptop. Paired with a 1070 because she uses Premiere Pro, which doesn't depend on the GPU that much. Also I had one I wasn't using.
