Arctic Unveils the Alpine M1 Passive CPU Cooler for Intel LGA115x

Arctic unveiled a new fan-less CPU cooler for Intel LGA115x sockets, the Alpine M1 Passive. With a rated cooling capacity of 48W (TDP), the cooler is only recommended for dual-core LGA1150 and LGA1151 Core i3, Pentium, Celeron, or energy-efficient Core i5 processors. Its design couldn't get any simpler - a big chunk of aluminium that's ridged to make up fins of the heatsink, with a bulge near the CPU area, with pre-applied thermal paste. Measuring 95 mm x 95 mm x 69 mm (LxDxH), it weighs in at 508 g. Available now, it's priced at 13€. It could prove to be an interesting option for low-power builds that never game.

ARCTIC Coolers fully Skylake Compatible

Certain CPU coolers may damage Intel's current Skylake processors for socket LGA 1151 - this has just become known. The Background is obviously a too high pressure, which can cause damage.

With this official statement we would like to assure that ARCTIC coolers are not affected by these problems - and thus fully Skylake compatible.
All ARCTIC CPU Coolers complies concerning the released sockets with the mechanical specification from Intel. With our coolers there are no problems on Intel CPUs of the 6th generation (Skylake) for LGA 1151.

Arctic Announces Liquid Freezer Line of AIO Liquid CPU Coolers

Arctic announces its first liquid coolers, the Liquid Freezer 120 and Liquid Freezer 240. For years ARCTIC provides delighted gamer and enthusiasts with CPU air coolers of all classes. With the first water coolers the processor cooling now reaches a new level. The Liquid Freezer 120 and the Liquid Freezer 240 start in the market not only as the quietest but also as the most powerful all-in-one coolers of their class.

Ready for 16 cores and overclocking? With the Liquid Freezer 240, you are. The high-performance water cooler deals with up to 300 Watts TDP and has four fans on board. The Liquid Freezer 120 distinguishes itself by strong 250 Watts with dual fans. The almost silent 120 mm fans, mounted on opposite sides of the radiator, provide a great airflow by push-pull configuration. All fans are controllable with PST function to adjust the fan speed based on CPU temperature. Latest motor technology and smooth tubes offer top performance at only 2 watt power consumption.

Arctic Announces the F Silent Fan Series

Arctic announced the F Silent series fans. In its class the F Silent offers the largest airflow by margin and yet is quieter than any other fan in the roundup - the top choice for silent fans. There is no need to compromise case ventilation, even if noise is not an option. The secret to this success? An innovative design done through computational fluidic dynamics with a motor developed in Germany. At low fan speed, the motor and bearing noise is key. A new alloy/lubricant combination reduces friction, which not only lead to increased service life but most of all keeps the operating noise to a minimum.

Arctic Announces Freezer i32 and A32 Semi-Passive CPU Coolers

Arctic announces the i32/A32 semi-passive coolers. The Freezer i32/A32 is the first semi passive Arctic cooler. Arctic Starts Selling Thermal Pads You Cut to Shape

ARCTIC Thermal Pad bridges problem-free even large spaces. After multiple awards with its thermal pastes, ARCTIC is now offering thermal pads as well. As perfect gap filler the Thermal Pad provides an optimal heat transfer and bridges even large height differences and uneven surfaces.

Often it is troublesome to cool diverse components like memory chips, CPUs, MCUs, DSPs and other ICs densely packed. Different heights prevent a proper contact to the heatsink and thus make it useless. The thermal pad is perfect to close even large spaces completely. Due to its low hardness this silicon pad adapts ideally to uneven surfaces, also at low pressure and thus ensures the best possible heat dissipation. In the comparison test the Thermal Pad with its special filler and a high thermal conductivity can demonstrate its performance and leaves the competitors behind.

AMD to Skip 20 nm, Jump Straight to 14 nm with "Arctic Islands" GPU Family

AMD's next-generation GPU family, which it plans to launch some time in 2016, codenamed "Arctic Islands," will see the company skip the 20 nanometer silicon fab process from 28 nm, and jump straight to 14 nm FinFET. Whether the company will stick with TSMC, which is seeing crippling hurdles to implement its 20 nm node for GPU vendors; or hire a new fab, remains to be seen. Intel and Samsung are currently the only fabs with 14 nm nodes that have attained production capacity. Intel is manufacturing its Core "Broadwell" CPUs, while Samsung is manufacturing its Exynos 7 (refresh) SoCs. Intel's joint-venture with Micron Technology, IMFlash, is manufacturing NAND flash chips on 14 nm.

Named after islands in the Arctic circle, and a possible hint at the low TDP of the chips, benefiting from 14 nm, "Arctic Islands" will be led by "Greenland," a large GPU that will implement the company's most advanced stream processor design, and implement HBM2 memory, which offers 57% higher memory bandwidth at just 48% the power consumption of GDDR5. Korean memory manufacturer SK Hynix is ready with its HBM2 chip designs.
