Enermax Readies New Modu87+ 800W and 900W PSU Models

Enermax is expanding its Modu87+ power supply (PSU) series with new 800W and 900W models. As the name suggests, Modu87+ PSUs feature modular cabling, and have over 87% efficiency at any given load. The 800W model will be released first, followed by the 900W model at a slightly later date. Both models boast of DHT (Dynamic Hybrid Transformer) technology, an array of solid-state (conductive-polymer) capacitors paired with Japanese electrolytic capacitors, dubbed "Hybrid Capacitor Array", which contribute to rated efficiency up to 92%, which stays over 87% at any load, earning it the coveted 80 Plus Gold rating.

Both models use four independent +12V rails, and are cooled by a 140 mm twister-bearing fan that keeps up with the "gold" theme. Cable modularity covers the 6 PCI-Express power cables, and a number of SATA power, 4-pin Molex, and 4-pin Floppy connectors, with the 24-pin ATX and CPU-power connector being sleeved and fixed. The Enermax Modu87+ 800W PSU will be priced at 174€, and backed by a 5-year warranty. The pricing of the 900W model will be known later.

Enermax Announces Aeolus N14 Netbook Cooling Pad

The air circulation and heat dissipation of netbooks is often restricted by the limited space in and around the small casing. Therefore, many manufactures develop active or passive cooling systems, which, under normal conditions, offer an acceptable cooling performance. Since summer is here and the ambient temperature is rapidly rising, even the best cooling systems can reach their limits. As a consequence, essential components like CPU or graphics card have to struggle at unusual high temperatures.

Netbook temperatures can be significantly reduced by the use of a cooling pad. While there are many notebook coolers currently available on the market, most cannot be easily adapted for small-size notebooks or compact netbooks. With its Aeolus N14, Enermax has developed a cooling pad, which is specially designed for these small-size mobile computers. The virtually silent integrated 14cm fan ensures a steady stream of fresh air. The wide-area steel mesh offers not only an excellent thermal conduction, but also an unrestricted air circulation and well-balanced cooling performance.

Enermax Launches LibertyECO II 720W Modular Power Supply

Liberty means freedom, which the modular cable management provides users. "ECO" stands for economy and indicates that this power supply includes not only a high efficiency (80PLUS certified) but an attractive price as well: that's twice the saving passed onto our customers. Considering that the consumption of modern PC-systems is growing due to high-performance graphic cards for gamers, Enermax has accordingly decided to expand its LibertyECO II series towards more powerful models.

Enermax LibertyECO II 720W provides an attractive high-end model for gamers and hardware-enthusiasts, that includes a strong and stable power source with sufficient reserves to run all current high-end graphics cards and processors. Enermax Introduces PRO87+ and MODU87+ PSUs with Dynamic Hybrid Transformer Topology

ENERMAX is stepping up to the need of energy and money-saving products with these two desktop PSU series with models in 500, 600, 700 and 800W. PRO87+ is the native cable series, while MODU87+ is modular. Both will complement ENERMAX' running 80+, 82+ & 85+ PSU series and incorporate the latest technologies with a major breakthrough: DHT, Dynamic Hybrid Transformer Topology, to improving the efficiency all manufacturers concentrated on the DC stage, up to now. But the technology used in the DC stage (during and after conversion of AC to DC) has come to the maximum and achieving 87+ efficiency is the very limit of this approach. To achieving 87+ or even higher efficiency with good performance needs additional innovations on the AC stage. ENERMAX has invented three innovations bundled into the new DHT-topology

The innovations center around the adoption of dynamic frequencies, voltages and conversion instead of traditional static ones. These dynamic optimization designs not only push the efficiency up to shocking 92%, but also improve stability and performance to new heights without sacrificing any safety or regulations. Moreover, the incorporation of a 13.9cm Twister bearing fan with the patented SpeedGuard fan control bring PRO87+ and MODU87+ to unprecedented silence @ 50 degrees C.
