To create the Vengeance K95 keyboard, the Corsair design team started with the successful and award-winning K90 and added a never-before-seen level of precision, technology, and styling. Buffalo Japan introduced a fleet of new wired and wireless mice optimized for Windows 8, thanks to gesture-recognizing touch surfaces along the top, that augment the main buttons and scroll wheels. Among the products launched are the wireless BSMBB10N series, and wired BSMBU12 series. The BSMBB10N series mice are equipped with Bluetooth and NFC tags. The NFC tag lets you configure the mouse with an NFC-equipped Windows 8 tablet or Ultrabook by simply waving the mouse close to the host device, saving you the trouble of configuring Bluetooth or WLAN settings. Unpack, wave, use - it's that simple.

The BSMBB10N series mice are available in as many as six 2-tone color options, including blue, red, green, pink, orange, and gray. Measuring 60 x 35 x 100 mm (WxDxH), the mice weigh about 58 g. The primary sensor has a resolution of 1,600 DPI, its Bluetooth reception range is 10 m. Moving on, the company also launched the wired BSMBU12, which use common USB wired connectivity but retain the touch surfaces that let you perform gestures. These mice are available in six similar 2-tone color options to the BSMBB10N. The wireless, NFC tag-equipped BSMBB10N series mice are priced at 3,465¥ ($31), while the wired BSMBU12 go for 2,089¥ ($26).

Elecom Japan announced four new lines (a total of 18 models) of mice optimized for Windows 8. The optimization is a special button, which in combination with movement and other buttons, lets you emulate multi-touch gestures (such as pinching), making it ideal for Windows 8 tablets that convert to desktops with a simple docking/stand. Among the four lines are the M-BL18UB series, the M-BL19DB series, the M-TG08UL series, and the M-TG09DL series (pictured in that order below). The four feature 1600 DPI blue LED sensors, 6 buttons, 2-way scroll-wheels, and ergonomic right-oriented designs. The M-BL18UB and M-TG08UL are wired, while the M-BL19DB and M-TG09DL talk to the host over 2.4 GHz wireless band. The mice are available in red, blue, pink, black, or white variants. They are slated for mid-October.

Elecom Japan launched two new lines of colorful mice, the M-BL6DB wireless and M-BL12UB wired. Both lines feature glossy color options, which for the M-BL6DB include black (M-BL6DBBK), azure blue (M-BL6DBBU), olive green (M-BL6DBGN), orange (M-BL6DBR), pink (M-BL6DBPN), and white (M-BL6DBWH); and for the M-BL12UB include silver (M-BL12UBSV), black (M-BL12UBBK), azure blue (M-BL12UBBU), green (M-BL12UBGN), red (M-BL12UBRD), and pink (M-BL12UBPN).

Measuring 62.3 x 115 x 36.3 mm (WxDxH), and weighing 100 g, the M-BL12UB is an ambidextrous 3-button scroll mouse with wired USB connection and 1000 dpi resolution. At 77 x 125 x 43 mm, weighing 60 g (without battery), the M-BL6DB is right-oriented wireless mouse with 5-buttons, with the same 1000 dpi sensor as its wired cousin. It talks to the host over 2.4 GHz radio band, using a USB micro-receiver. Slated for early-June, the M-BL12UB is priced at 1,470 JPY (US $18.5), while the M-BL6DB goes for 2,940 JPY (US $37).

Buffalo unveiled its latest line of stylish wireless mice for desktop PCs, with battery life of up to 18 months, under the SRMB04 series. Available in six 2-tone glossy color options, the SRMB04 are right-oriented 5-button scroll mice, with 1500 DPI optical sensors. The mice are loaded with aggressive power-management features that turn off the sensor in short intervals of activity, to conserve power. Measuring 73 x 110 x 41 mm (WxDxH), weighing about 74 g (without battery), the mice take in two AA-size batteries to run. These feature rubber-padded scrollwheel and side thumb-rest. Slated for late April, the SRMB04 mice are priced at 4,620 JPY (US $56.6).

Sanwa Supply introduced the MA-NANOIR13 series wireless optical mice, which feature infrared optical sensors. The infrared sensors draw lesser power than visible light sensors, and hence conserve battery. The sensors offer tracking resolution as high as 3000 DPI, this resolution can be switched on-the-fly between 3000, 1500, and 1000 DPI. Oriented for the right-hand, the MA-NANOIR13 has two side buttons apart from its three main buttons and a 2-way scroll-wheel.

Measuring 55 x 107 x 36 mm (WxDxH), these mice weigh 70 g without batteries, they take in two AA-size ones. With a pair of mainstream alkaline batteries, up to 15 months' battery-life can be expected. The mouse talks to the host machine over 2.4 GHz radio band, a USB micro-receiver is included. The MA-NANOIR13 comes in three color options, black, silver, and red. They are priced at 3,675 JPY (US $44.6).

Green House Japan introduced a pair of wired optical mice, under the GH-MUxAK. The GH-MUSAK is a model with a straight long cable, while th GH-MURAK is characterized by a retractable cable that makes it a notebook companion. They are pictured below, in that order. The two have identical main-units, measuring 54 x 94 x 36.5 mm (WxDxH), with an 800 DPI optical sensor. With a cable-length of 140 cm, and weighing 66.6 g, the GH-MUSAK is priced at 750 JPY (US $9), while the GH-MURAK, with its 75 cm-long retractable cable, and 58.2 g weight, goes for 980 JPY (US $12).

Awww, just awww. Look at these colorful kidney-bean shaped wireless mice from Elecom. They're sure to go well with equally colorful netbooks such as Aspire One from Acer. The M-BM1DL "Baby Beans" from Elecom measure just 35.5 x 54.0 x 23.0 mm (WxDxH), weighing 20 g, but that doesn't stop them from packing 1,200 DPI laser sensors. Guinness Records certified these as the smallest mice. The USB micro-receiver, which operates in the 2.4 GHz radio band can be slotted into the mouse for carrying it around. The mouse packs a tiny rechargeable battery, that can be charged using a bundled cable. Pricing and availability info is awaited.

Buffalo announced a large selection of wireless mice and keyboards, compatible with its new "Simpring" (or so it's called) wireless receiver, which can connect up to five wireless peripherals at the same time, needing a single USB port. The receiver is similar to Logitech's Unifying receiver.

Wireless mice launched includes the SRMB01 series of right-hand oriented 5-button mice available in six color options, priced at 4,200 JPY (US $52); the SRMB02 series ambidextrous 3-button mouse with a matte surface, priced 3,465 JPY (US $42.75), and available in similar color options; and the SRMB03 series of ambidextrous-looking 5-button mouse (back/forward buttons located on its left-side, making it right-oriented in the true sense), priced 4,200 JPY (US $52).

Japanese company Elecom unveiled a new line of gaming mice featuring cross-axis sensitivity settings, giving you the ability to tune the sensitivity of the mouse by tuning the X and Y axes independently. The sensitivity setting is then displayed back to the user by LEDs on the mouse, next to button 1. The M-H1ULBK and M-H2DLBK launched today have the same exact design, except that the M-H2DLBK is capable of both wireless and wired opteration. The M-H1ULBK is wired.

The M-H1ULBK features a 5310 dpi optical sensor (can be tuned between 90 dpi and 5310 dpi), with 1000 Hz polling rate. It has a 1.8 m braided USB cable. The M-H2DLBK, on the other hand, packs a 5600 dpi sensor, which can be tuned between 100 and 5600 dpi. It offers a polling rate of 500 Hz when functioning wireless, and 1000 Hz when wired. Both measure W77.6 x D124.5 x H41.8 mm, the M-H1ULBK weighs 155 g (including cable), while the M-H2DLBK weighs 137 g when wireless, and 187 g when wired. Both mice feature 7 buttons, with on the fly dpi settings. Slated for May launch, the M-H2DLBK will be priced at 15,435 JPY (US $200), and the M-H1ULBK at 9,870 JPY ($128).

SteelSeries, the leading manufacturer of premium-quality, competitive gaming peripherals, today at the start of the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, introduced a new line-up of gaming peripherals. Kicking off the mouse category for SteelSeries in 2012 is the SteelSeries Kana, also known as the Designed by Gamers mouse; and two editions of the new version of the SteelSeries Kinzu, the SteelSeries Kinzu v2 and SteelSeries Kinzu v2 Pro Edition. Japanese company Elecom unveiled its latest M-TG01DL series designer wireless mice. Available in color options of black, silver, and cherry-red, these right hand-oriented wireless mice use dark-field microscopic optical sensors that let you use it even on transparent glass surfaces with nothing underneath them (such as glass tables). The sensor itself has a resolution of 1200 dpi, which is just fine for most non-gaming tasks.

The mice have five buttons apart from the scroll-wheel. The main unit communicates with a USB micro-receiver over 2.4 GHz radio band, and is powered by a single AAA-size battery which can provide up to 106 days of continuous uptime before needing a replacement. The mouse measures 51.0 x 77.0 x 32 mm (WxDxH), weighing 55 grams (without its battery). The M-TG01DL series will be available in the Japanese market in mid-January, its pricing is not known.

HP Announced two gaming mice based on the Voodoo DNA design methodology. The first one being HDX Laser Mouse and the other, Laser Gaming Mouse VoodooDNA. The HDX model has five programmable buttons, a somewhat ambidextrous design and 2400 dpi scan resolution (sensitivity). It stores up to five user profiles for button and sensitivity settings.

The VoodooDNA mouse comes with the kind of design you would expect from VoodooPC, a company acquired by HP about two years ago, that specializes in building gaming PCs. It comes with HP VoodooDNA software that gives gamers control over the mouse along with options to tweak and tune it, which also allows storage of up to 25 button profiles that gamers can switch to, specific to their games. It has a resolution of 3200 dpi. The HDX Laser Mouse will be priced at US $39.99, while the VoodooDNA mouse will carry a price tag of $59.99.
