GIGABYTE Readies GeForce RTX 4070 Ti AORUS Xtreme WaterForce Series

GIGABYTE released liquid-cooled graphics cards based on the performance-segment GeForce RTX 4070 Ti. The company is catering to both the DIY liquid cooling and turnkey liquid cooling market segments with the RTX 4070 Ti AORUS Xtreme WaterForce series. The RTX 4070 Ti AORUS Xtreme WB comes with a factory-fitted full-coverage water block that you connect to your own liquid-cooling loop; while the RTX 4070 Ti AORUS Xtreme lugs an AIO liquid cooling solution.

The AORUS Xtreme WaterForce WB uses a nickel-plated copper full-coverage water block that's been tailored for the PCB layout underneath, with an acrylic top, and some vinyl decals. The acrylic top is studded with addressable RGB LEDs. The AORUS Xtreme WaterForce (AIO based) card, on the other hand, uses an AIO cooling solution with a design resembling that of the company's RTX 3080 AORUS Xtreme WaterForce. This card uses a purely-liquid cooling solution (unlike some other brands with an air+liquid hybrid design). The pump-block in the card is responsible not just for the GPU, but also the memory and VRM (over secondary base-plates). A 240 mm x 120 mm radiator is used, which should be just about enough for a 300 W TGP graphics card. GIGABYTE could formally launch these two cards very soon, as the press images are already out.

Cooler Master Shows New X Series PSUs at Computex 2023

Cooler Master has showcased a couple of new PSUs at the Computex 2023, including the X Silent series Max and Edge PSUs, which are "near-silent" and fanless models that should be coming soon. In addition, Cooler Master has come up with some high-quality 12VHPWR 90 degree cables that should be better than standard ones.

The X Series Max is described as "near-silent" since it has a low speed RGB fan in order to support higher wattage, but will keep the noise at 20dB. The X Silent Max will be available in models of up to 1300 W and uses a single-piece heat dissipation structure. The X Series Edge is a whole different beast as this is a completely fanless PSU, that features special airflow-improving extended fan cover, vapor chamber technology, and the same single-piece heat dissipation structure. The X Series Edge will go to up to 750 W. Both of these X Series PSUs are ATX 3.0 and PCIe 5.0 compliant, which means they come with 12VHPWR cables, and both support Cooler Master's MasterControl software, allowing users to monitor temperature, current load, and overall performance. Cooler Master also unveiled new 12VHPWR cables, with 90-degree angle that should prevent unnecessary bending, as well as an upgraded connector design with double springs and thicker wire, which should be better than those previous cables and reduce the connector temperatures by 5 degrees.

Cooler Master Unveils New MasterLiquid AiO Coolers at Computex

Cooler Master had plenty to show at the Computex 2023 event, including a pair of new MasterLiquid AiO coolers that should eventually find its way to retail/e-tail shelves, the MasterLiquid 360 Ion and the MasterLiquid 360 Atmos. Cooler Master is also looking into some new markets with its open-loop cooling system concept design.

The MasterLiquid 360 Ion is obviously the star of the show as Cooler Master was proud to display it alongside its X Silent Max PSU, and this one comes with a 2.1-inch LCD screen on the dual-chamber pump that can display pretty much anything. The 360 mm radiator comes with Cooler Master's Mobius 120P ARGB fans, and Cooler Master also included RGB light strip around the pump. The MasterLiquid 360 Atmos is also an interesting upcoming product and while it does not feature an LCD screen, it comes with customizable pump cover that can be 3D printed. It features three SickleFlow Edge ARGB fans that promises exceptional performance and low noise levels. Unfortunately, there is also no word on the availability or the price of the new MasterLiquid AiO coolers. Cooler Master also showcased its open-loop concept cooling components including fittings, radiator, pump, tubes, as well as GPU and CPU water blocks, which could be something that Cooler Master could get into eventually.

Phanteks New Cooling Solutions at Computex 2023: Glacier One D30 AIOs, D30-series Cable-free Daisy-Chain Fans

At the 2023 Computex, Phanteks unveiled a handful of new cooling solutions. The D30-140 is a star attraction. This 140 mm fan features a cable-free daisy-chaining system that uses a click-and-lock mechanism and contact points, to connect up to three of these fans, sharing a PWM fan connection, and addressable RGB signal. This makes the fans very convenient to deploy on radiators, or rows of fan-mounts in cases, such as the front intakes. The fans are based on the same impeller design and motor architecture as the T30-series that the company debuted in March 2023. It features the same "Halos" lighting effect. Phanteks plans to launch the D30-140 in August 2023, priced at $30 a piece, or $85 for a set of 3.

The Glacier One D30 is a lineup of all-in-one (AIO) liquid CPU coolers that come in 240 mm, 360 mm, and 420 mm variants based on radiator sizes. These are practically identical in design and specs to the Glacier One T30 series from March, but replace the T30-series fans that have individual cables, with the newer D30-series ones that have cable-free daisy-chaining that looks a lot cleaner when installed. What's new is the 420 mm (420 mm x 140 mm radiator size) variant that's exclusive to the Glacier One D30-series. When it goes on sale this August, the Glacier One 240-D30 will be priced at $150, and the 360-D30 at $180. The company hasn't finalized pricing of the 420-D30, yet.

Phanteks Shows New PSU and PC Cases at Computex 2023

Phanteks had several interesting products to show at the Computex 2023, including its new NV9 and NV5 PC cases and a rather interesting Revolt power supply, which will actually ship without any cables, allowing users to pick out their own according to the need from either Phanteks or CableMod.

The new Phanteks Revolt power supply is a rather interesting product as it is a made in collaboration with CableMod. The new Revolt PSU actually exceeds ATX 3.0 specification and is actually made by Seasonic so it should be a solid design. The most interesting feature is that it will actually ship without any cables, as Phanteks is teaming up with CableMod for custom cables, allowing users to actually choose their own cables to match the rest of the system. The Revolt power supplies are coming in August 2023, in 1000 W, 1200 W, and 1600 W versions. The 1000 W and 1200 W version will be available in black and white color options while the 1600 W version only comes in black. Microsoft to Add Native RGB Lighting Control to Windows 11

According to a blog post by Panos Panay, Chief Product Officer, Windows and Devices, Microsoft is adding native support for RGB lighting control to Windows 11. One of the big frustrations today is that almost each and every manufacturer of RGB equipped devices, or motherboards for that matter, have their own system when it comes to controlling the RGB lighting. This might result in multiple apps having to be installed and they often don't communicate with each other. There's obviously some interoperability, but it's still quite poor, so now it appears that Microsoft has taken things into their own hands.

However, the blog post which covers a lot of other topics as well, doesn't provide any details of a user interface. Microsoft calls its solution to the problem for Dynamic Lighting and it's supposed to be part of the Windows settings. The blog post mentions that Dynamic Lighting will be released in this month's insider build as a preview, so hopefully we should have a better idea of what Microsoft supports and how much user control there will actually be. That said, it seems like Microsoft is expecting the various hardware manufacturers to add support for Dynamic Lighting as well, so it's highly likely that we'll still see plenty of unsupported hardware out there.

ASUS Announces ROG Strix & ASUS Dual AMD Radeon RX 7600 Graphics Cards

ASUS today announced the ROG Strix AMD Radeon RX 7600, ASUS Dual AMD Radeon RX 7600 and ASUS Dual AMD Radeon RX 7600 V2 graphics cards, which are designed to strike the perfect balance between affordability and gaming power, with stunning visuals and fluid performance. Key generation-over-generation upgrades make the ROG Strix AMD Radeon RX 7600 graphics card a serious contender for a user's next gaming PC. Compared to the last-gen ROG Strix AMD Radeon RX 6600 XT, it operates more quietly while running at broadly similar temperatures, and it has a TGP (total graphics power) of 145 watts.

An efficient GPU and an effective cooling solution make all the difference. Two of the 11-blade Axial-tech fans keep a steady stream of cooling air moving through its 2.9-slot heatsink, and dual-ball fan bearings help ensure a long lifetime. Venting in the aluminium protective backplate provides another pathway for heat to dissipate from the card. It is equipped with 0 dB tech as well, so the fans will entirely spin down for silent operation whenever temperatures permit. A Dual BIOS switch lets gamers easily prioritize performance or quiet operation.
