Today, Focus Entertainment and its studio Deck13 shared a gameplay presentation for their upcoming game Atlas Fallen, the epic fantasy action-RPG where you battle legendary creatures in superpowered combat. Prepare to glide torrid sands this summer, with the game getting released on August 10 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. An epic adventure is born
With Atlas Fallen, Deck13 takes its passion for thrilling action-RPG experiences to a new territory. Following their sci-fi series, The Surge, the team embraces a fresh vision for a unique medieval fantasy world and a faster-paced-oriented combat. The video gathers the words of several developers and creatives, as well as gorgeous concept art and footage of the game, telling the fun, exciting, and inspiring adventure that led to Atlas Fallen. Over the years, the innovative people at Deck13, a small but talented dev team based in Frankfurt, Germany, have consistently sought to enhance the RPG experiences they offer, exploring new ideas, all within their on-house engine, Fledge.

A new trailer for Hellboy Web of Wyrd was unveiled yesterday during the IGN x ID@Xbox Digital Showcase, giving us a brand-new glimpse at the upcoming action title. The trailer showed new locations, a look at some of Hellboy's fighting moves, and some of the characters he'll likely be throwing his very large fists at. All of this came wrapped up in a traditional comic-style setting, with inspiration heavily drawn from Hellboy comics creator Mike Mignola.

We had the chance to chat to two developers from Upstream Arcade, Adam Langridge and Patrick Martin, about how the art direction of Hellboy Web of Wyrd, how Mignola's presence is felt throughout the game, and the work put in to craft a fresh story while remaining faithful to the Hellboy series.

MAGIC
All magic in Aveum can be distilled into three forms: Blue force magic, Red chaos magic, and Green life magic. Each is used in its own ways and functions differently. Though most Magni are only able to control one color of magic, Triarchs are able to harness all three, though they are much rarer because of that. Jak is one such Magnus, allowing him to tap into all three types of magic.

Gearing up
After your Helldiver defrosts on your ship, you and your squadmates must prepare for a mission by customizing your armor, your weapons, and your stratagems together. Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Deck13 Interactive were happy to declare, yesterday on Twitter, that development on their upcoming action role-player is complete: "We're happy to announce that Atlas Fallen has gone GOLD! 💛 See you on August 10 in the land of Atlas." The game was originally slated to launch back in mid-May, but the studio was granted extra time to implement further optimizations, polish gameplay, and record "a full German voice-over" dub.

Deck13 Interactive is best known for producing "Soulslike" games—notable titles in their past catalog include Lords of the Fallen (2014), The Surge (2017) and The Surge 2 (2019), but Atlas Fallen presents a departure for the team. The emphasis is on fast and fluid action, with inspiration taken from Sony Entertainment's God of War (2018) and Guerrilla's Horizon series. Atlas Fallen is built using the company's in-house "Fledge" engine—it will be interesting to discover how this proprietary technology performs across PC and console platforms.

It's a narrative adventure with two vibrant worlds, a cast of loveable characters, and a compelling story we hope all kinds of players will enjoy. One of the main features of our game is the Augural, and that's what we'd like to talk about in this blog. The Augural is the game board and visual representation of our main character, Polly's, gift of clairvoyance. It is the place in which you will foresee and make all your choices in Harmony: The Fall of Reverie.

We wanted to the Augural to be a peaceful and beautiful place where you can prepare your next move without any stress. That's why the Augural is set against a placid lake reflecting a starlit sky, and this starlight conveys the idea of an astronomical map where fates can be deciphered. When we first set out to build the Augural, the intention was to offer significant choices that were well-informed, so you need never be surprised or caught off guard by the decisions you make. From there, it evolved naturally into a way to expose the "core" of the story and show how events are connected to one another. We wanted to do something new in the Choices Matter sub-genre.

The Stormcast Eternals are mortal heroes transformed into supernatural warriors in the forges of Azyr. They are the God-King's wrath made manifest, and they were created for one single purpose: outright war! In Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin, they are led by Sigrun, a commander of the Stormcast Eternals detachment sent to defend a Dawnbringer settlement known as Harkanibus.

Larian Studios dropped a surprise prequel to Baldur's Gate 3 late last night—it is completely free to play and exists in a web browser format. Blood in Baldur's Gate takes place 15 years prior to the events of the main game. You must work with a bunch of D&D detectives and solve a murder case. By taking on this task you are deemed to be "the next lamb brought to slaughter."

Players are encouraged to co-operate with fellow participants on Larian's official forum or subreddit, where they can discuss and consider their next move(s), or put decisions to a vote. Larian seems to be teasing the possible return of an antagonist from the second entry in the series...you will have to delve deep into 30+ Blood in Baldur's Gate locations to find out more.
