Broadcom Inc. today announced sample availability of its second generation of wireless connectivity chipset solutions for the Wi-Fi 7 ecosystem, spanning Wi-Fi routers, residential gateways, enterprise access points, and client devices. The new chips build on the ecosystem of products with Broadcom's first-generation Wi-Fi 7 chips while delivering additional functionality to a wider market.

The first chip, the BCM6765, is a highly-optimized residential access point chip that supports 320 MHz 2-stream Wi-Fi operation. This new platform system-on-chip (SoC) allows the productization of Wi-Fi 7 mass-market access points and smart repeater solutions which span the spectrum of cost, form factor, and performance. The second chip, the BCM47722, is an enterprise access point chip that also supports 320 MHz 2-stream operation along with dual IoT radios that support simultaneous operation for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), Zigbee, Thread, and Matter protocols. Renders and basic specifications for Sony's rumored WF-1000XM4 successor were leaked earlier this month, with some sources theorizing that Sony would be unveiling the next-generation TWS earbuds within days. An official announcement did not come to pass, but details and a (top-down view) photo of the WF-1000XM5's charging case have emerged from an independent testing database—the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Tipsters reckon that the WF-1000XM5 buds will be smaller and lighter than predecessors—perhaps closer in size to Sony's cheaper TWS offering, the WF-C700N—and leaked specifications indicate that the new model is not a massive departure from the XM4, although multi-point connectivity looks to be standard at launch.

The WPC's online certification page lists model number YY2963, which is identical to an FCC registration from February. The June 9th entry states that it is a "wireless stereo headset," with a carry/charging case classed as a "Power Class 0 Receiver" offering 2 W maximum input. A low quality photo of this earbud cradle is included on the WPC web page—Sony's new unit looks almost identical to the WF-1000XM4 enclosure. Qi wireless charging is very likely part of the package, but the next-gen solution might not be much of an upgrade. Insiders have reassessed the situation, and now propose that Sony is planning on a July or August reveal for the the 1000XM5.

At Computex 2023, Endorfy has launched the Arx 700 Air and Arx 700 ARGB PC cases, designed with maximum cooling potential and easy component access. The cases accommodate a tall cooling system, up to 8 fans, and any current graphics card, with the Arx 700 Air featuring 5 Stratus 140 PWM fans and the Arx 700 ARGB including 4 illuminated Stratus 140 PWM ARGB fans. The design is minimalist, with a tempered glass side panel that allows internal component visibility. Both cases measure 486×228×472 mm (H×W×L) and support ATX, microATX, and ITX motherboards, with a graphics card clearance of 410 mm, CPU cooler clearance of 179 mm, and power supply clearance of 340 mm. They have 7 expansion slots and internal bays that include 1× 2.5"/3.5" and 6× 2.5". The cases can accommodate up to 8 fans and come with built-in dust filters. The Endorfy Arx 500 Air and Arx 500 ARGB are also shown; however, we don't have exact specifications yet, and we expect them to follow soon. Visually, we see that the 500 series is shorter than the 700 series. The cases are priced at 99 and 109 EUR, respectively.

Cooler Master is exhibiting new MM712 gaming mouse variants at Computex 2023 - the two updated offerings come in the form of a high-end "PRO" version and a (potentially) cheaper wired model. The original MM712 was released last autumn (after several delays) to a mostly warm reception, although user feedback did provide Cooler Master with plenty of insights for the development of possible successors. The peripheral design team has addressed a key negative point - the MM712 PRO and Wired models no longer sport primary button overhang - certain users complained about their fingers getting pinched by the original's sharp side pieces. The new model's sensor position has been adjusted to a more central placement according to documentation on hand.

The MM712 PRO looks to offer a significant bump in specifications (over the base model) thanks to it being fitted with Pixart's top PAW 3395 optical sensor. Cooler Master will be catching up with leading brands who already offer high polling rate gaming mice. The MM712 PRO in wired connection mode can operate at 8 kHz, while wireless operation is rated at 4 kHz via an included ultra-fast USB dongle. The spec upgrade has not meant that the model's weight has increased, Cooler Master reps at Computex claim that the PRO remains in the lightweight category - coming in at roughly 56 grams.
