Xbox and OPI Collaborate on Summer Themed Special Edition Controller

Summer is just around the corner, and Xbox is turning up the heat by teaming up with one of the most iconic nail brands, OPI, to bring a fresh polish to the Xbox controller. Last year we partnered with OPI to launch a gaming-inspired palette for Spring and this time around we're flipping the script and releasing an exclusive Xbox Wireless Controller that's inspired by OPI nail colors. The all-new Sunkissed Vibes OPI Special Edition Xbox Wireless Controller features four stunning summer-shades, inspired by OPI's new Summer Make the Rules collection (sold separately) to help players unlock the ultimate summer glow up this season.

Turn up the heat with the Sunkissed Vibes Special Edition controller and make every day a beach day. Get things started by painting your thumbnails with OPI's Sanding in Stilettos as a picture-perfect complement to the shimmery, pearlescent melon top case. Or level up your look and match the bold, glossy D-pad with a splash of OPI's Flex on the Beach. More daring gamers can drop all inhibitions and embrace the controller's pastel back case, bumpers, and thumbsticks by channeling OPI's Surf Naked blue. And as a finishing touch, revel in the summertime brightness of the Xbox button and triggers inspired by the all work, all play attitude of OPI's Summer Monday-Fridays.
This Special Edition controller seamlessly integrates with your current Xbox setup and supports play on console, PC, iOS, and Android. It's a stylish companion for wherever your summer vibes take you, boasting up to 40 hours of battery life and a 3.5 mm stereo headset jack. And once you've perfectly coordinated your color palette, you can further personalize the controller through customized button mapping with the Xbox Accessories app.
The Sunkissed Vibes Special Edition controller retails for $69.99 USD MSRP and is available for pre-order today in select Xbox markets worldwide. Visit Xbox.com or your local retailer, including Microsoft Store, for more information. In the US the Sunkissed Vibes OPI Special Edition controller will be available exclusively at Target. OPI's Summer Make the Rules collection is available to purchase at OPI.com and anywhere OPI is sold beginning May 1, 2023.
As the #1 nail salon brand worldwide, OPI (a division of WELLA Company) offers unlimited shades and the highest quality products, artistry, and techniques. From the award-winning colors to innovative effects, treatments, and devices, OPI gives you the inspiration so you can put the "I" in OPI. I mean it's better than the pathetic greenwashing attempt we last saw from their "eco-friendly" (totally NOT eco-friendly) disposable plastic gamepads.

But yeah, this isn't going to magically absolve game studios of their horrific, sexist transgressions that made international news during the #metoo era. I asked a friend if she thought this was sexism through marketing and she says not, but it's also a very dubious collab and she's genuinely struggling to see the point here, both of us were struggling to work out the marketing spin or ulterior motive and we're drawing blanks.

So yeah, that's a no, dawg.

So they double down on that idiotic promotion of the Forza Horizon 5 car with OPI colours. :D

I bet anyone who's a Marlins or Dolphins fan will go for it.
Not my thing, but the color scheme is on point for a tropical vibe.

I actially like the color. $70 is a bit steep for what you get with an xbox controller though.

Somehow, I suspect that's not really the target audience though :D

And no, I am not gonna say it, the thing that alot of you are thinking, mainly to spare myself the instant and unrelenting barrage of flamin lightning bolts raining down upon me...

Wow, M$ must REALLY be struggling nowadayz, to have to turn to a nail polish maker for new colors of xbux periphs... I'm sure the folks at Panatone would have helped them out, like they did with the upcoming special colored phones from at least 2 mfgrs, maybe moar....

And yes I think it is pukerfester fuggily, right up there with the R.friggin.B.friggin.G.friggin rainbow circus barf that has overtaken nearly everything pc-related nowadayz !

Very 90s Cali summer retro in color design, TBH.

Not a fan of it personally, but it's definitely on point.
