Designed for mini-ITX motherboards, the case is practically open-air, with smoked acrylic panels lining two of its sides, and the various enclosures clinging on to its rod-frame. Unlike the original, the D-Frame Mini features a black main frame, and doesn't end up looking like construction scaffolding. The case has enough room for a high-end ITX build, complete with liquid cooling, a high-end PSU, multiple 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch drives; and so on. We'll get you the specifics soon.

Inter-Tech has today unveiled a new storage drive enclosure in the SinanPower series, a model codenamed GD25621-S3 which features USB 3.0 connectivity. Pictured below, the 2.5-inch enclosure measures 130 x 78 x 13 mm, it has an aluminum construction, and supports SATA drives with a thickness of up to 9.5 mm and a capacity of up to 4 TB.

The SinanPower GD25621-S3 is backed by a two-year warranty and should become available next month. No word on pricing yet.

Peripherals maker Orico rolled out the SDK25-U3 line of colorful 2.5-inch USB 3.0 drive enclosures. The enclosure slides open as shown in the picture, and can house a 9 mm-thick SATA drive (HDD or SSD). While there's no word on whether the internal SATA link runs at 6 Gb/s or caps out at 3 Gb/s, the host connectivity is 5 Gb/s USB 3.0 SuperSpeed. The enclosure is designed to use a single connection (USB) for both power and host-connectivity. Orico plans to sell the enclosure both dry (add your own drive), and with a 1 TB HDD pre-installed (SDK25-U31T).

NCASE Design today announced the complete success of its crowdfunding campaign to mass produce the innovative all-aluminum "M1" mini-ITX PC enclosure.
The campaign was created on IndieGoGo and launched on August 10th. The original goal of $67,500 was reached within 24 hours. Six hundred units of the case were made available for purchase. Within seven days all enclosures were claimed and over $135,000 was raised.

Chinese peripherals company Orico introduced a trio of external multi-bay 3.5-inch HDD enclosures. These include a gigantic 10-bay stacker (model: 1088USJ3), and its 8-bay (8988USJ3), and 5-bay (5988SUSJ3) siblings. The three use standard ATX PSUs to power the drives. The three feature matte black SECC steel bodies, with brushed metal front. The three internally use SATA 6 Gb/s interface, and lockable caddies. The 10- and 8-bay models only feature USB 3.0, while the 5-bay gives you both USB 3.0 and eSATA host connectivity options. The enclosures lack RAID support, so each disk is visible to the host as an independent mass storage device, with partitions showing up as volumes. The 10-, 8-, and 5-bay enclosures are priced at RMB 2399¥ ($390), 1999¥ ($325), and 1399¥ ($227), respectively.
