The World's First Mini PC to Feature Frore Systems AirJet Launched at COMPUTEX 2023

Today, ZOTAC Technology launched the ZOTAC ZBOX PI430AJ with AirJet, the first Mini-PC to feature AirJet the world's first solid-state active cooling chip. The ZBOX PI430AJ with AirJet, at a mere 115 mm x 76 mm x 22 mm, now boasts twice the performance thanks to AirJet, making it the most powerful device in its class. AirJet cools devices with breakthrough technology that meets the ever-increasing demands of today's consumers. AirJet's compact size and unique capabilities enable faster, thinner, lighter, silent, and dustproof devices.

Heat is the single biggest problem facing the electronics industry, and until now, manufacturers have used antiquated thermal solutions like mechanical fans or bulky ineffective heat sinks to remove heat. These inadequate thermal solutions cause devices to rapidly overheat, forcing manufacturers to reduce device performance after only a few seconds of operation. This means consumers never really get the full processor performance they pay for.

Akasa Rolls Out Turing A50 Case for ASUS PN50 Ryzen 4000-powered Mini PC

Akasa ended the year with the release of the Turing A50, a fanless all-aluminium case with which you can replace the case that comes with the ASUS PN50 mini-PC. The ASUS PN50, if you recall, is a NUC-sized mini-PC that uses 15-Watt AMD Ryzen 4000-series "Renoir" mobile processors. The Akasa Turing A50 is a variation of the original Turing NUC case the company released back in February 2019, but with its innards re-designed for the ASUS PN50 mainboard. On the front side, you get mounts for the board's headset jack, two USB 3.2 ports (from which one is type-C and has DisplayPort passthrough), and the IR receiver. The rear has mounts for the three other display outputs, and a couple more USB ports, and the DC power input. Internally, the case features an SoC cooler base designed to mount onto the "Renoir" SoC, from which a few copper heat-pipes convey heat to the case's aluminium body, which doubles up as a heatsink. Fanless Tech reports that the case should be available from February 2021.

Alleged Apple M1X Processor Specifications Surface

Apple's silicon design team has recently launched its "fastest" CPU core ever, found inside the company's M1 processor designed for laptops and mini-PCs. Featuring an eight-core processor, where four cores are represented by low power small configurations, and four big, high-performance design cores, the M1 processor proved to be extremely fast. However, the Apple Silicon processor doesn't seem to cover anything higher than the 13-inch MacBook Pro. And that is about to change. When it comes to higher-end models like the 16-inch MacBook Pro, which provides more cooling area, it is logical that the processor for those designs is a higher performance design.

Enter the world of the Apple M1X processor. Designed for high-end laptops and the most demanding workloads, the new processor aims to create a new performance level. Featuring a 12-core CPU with eight big and four small cores, the M1X processor is going to deliver much better performance than M1. The graphics and memory configuration are currently unknown, so we have to wait and see how it will look like. The M1X is set to arrive sometime in Q1 of 2021, according to the source of the leak, so be patient and remember to take this information with a grain of salt.

GIGABYTE Readies BRIX Mini PCs Powered by AMD "Renoir" 8-core Processors

GIGABYTE is planning to update its BRIX line of min-PCs with new models powered by AMD's Ryzen 4000 series "Renoir" 8-core/16-thread processors, according to a ComputerBase.de article. It remains to be seen whether these mini-PCs use the 15 W "Renoir-U," 45 W "Renoir-H," or the more recent Ryzen Embedded V2000 chips. The company is readying two main variants based on body size—slim and tall, with the "tall" version featuring a 2.5-inch SATA drive bay in addition to M.2 slots, while the slim version makes do with just M.2 NVMe/SATA slots for internal storage. These BRIX boxes come with the latest networking connectivity, including 802.11ax Wi-Fi 6, and 2.5 GbE wired Ethernet. There could be as many as four display outputs, with GIGABYTE advertising support for up to four 4K displays. One of these could be USB-C. There's no word yet on pricing or availability.

Ruijie RG-CT7800 Mini-PC Among First Zhaoxin KaiXian Designs, Tip of China's 3-5-2 Spear

With a 2.4-liter volume, a conventional black plastic body, and essential connectivity, the Ruijie RG-CT7800 may come across as a run-of-the-mill mini-PCs for small businesses or those who do precious little offline, except what's under the hood. This humble compact desktop is among the first design wins of China's ambitious effort at having an x86 processor built entirely on Chinese soil, the Zhaoxin KaiXian. This processor is making its way to products, and was recently pictured on an embedded motherboard. The KaiXian, along with the notebooks, motherboards, micro-servers, and mini-PCs that implement it, form the tip of China's 3-5-2 policy, an ambitious plan to rid all state- and state-owned institutions of "foreign hardware."

The numerals in "3-5-2" are supposed to correspond to foreign hardware replacement targets set by the country's Central Government - 30% by the end of 2020, an additional 50% by the end of 2021, and the remaining 20% by the end of 2022. To support this plan, the Chinese electronics industry, flush with state investment, has indigenized several key components of the modern PC, including DRAM, NAND flash, and now CPU. The country already dominates the global electronic components market. The RG-CT7800 implements The KaiXian KX-U6780A SoC that sports eight x64 CPU cores running at 2.70 GHz. Interestingly, the chip is manufactured on TSMC's 16 nm FinFET node (a de facto "foreign" source, but one that's de jure China from Beijing's perspective). Ruijie is equipping the RG-CT7800 with 8 GB of DDR4 memory, and 256 GB of SSD-based storage. One can make out industry-standard USB, Ethernet, 3.5 mm audio jacks, etc., from the pictures. The box will be compatible with UOS and NeoKylin (Linux distros built under scrutiny of the Chinese Government). With state institutions being on the clock to implement their 3-5-2 targets, it's possible that the first volumes of RG-CT7800 will be sold exclusively to state customers.
