The Patriot P200 is a solid-state drive in the 2.5" form factor, launched on July 17th, 2019. It is available in capacities ranging from 128 GB to 1 TB. This page reports specifications for the 256 GB variant. With the rest of the system, the Patriot P200 interfaces using a SATA 6 Gbps connection. The SSD controller is the SM2258XT from Silicon Motion, a DRAM cache is not available. Patriot has installed 64-layer TLC NAND flash on the P200, the flash chips are made by Micron. Please note that this SSD is sold in multiple variants with different NAND flash or controller, which could affect performance, the "Notes" section at the end of this page has more info. To improve write speeds, a pseudo-SLC cache is used, so bursts of incoming writes are soaked up more quickly. The P200 is rated for sequential read speeds of up to 530 MB/s and 460 MB/s write; random IOPS reach up to 90K for reads and 80K for writes.
At its launch, the SSD was priced at 35 USD. The warranty length is set to three years, which is above average, but shorter than the five years offered by many other vendors. Patriot guarantees an endurance rating of 160 TBW, a good value.
