HP introduced the new HP Mini 5103 - HP's latest touch-enabled mini notebook, designed for mobile professionals. From a starting weight of 1.2kg, the HP Mini 5103 incorporates Intel's latest Atom N550 dual-core processor, in addition to the new Atom N455 and N475 processors, all of which support DDR3 memory. Available in standard or touch-enabled versions. the HP Mini 5103 features a sturdy, lightweight, anodized-aluminum display enclosure with a brushed finish in three colors - red, blue and espresso. It also comes with an optional handle for easy transport.The HP Mini 5103 also offers a spacious 95 percent of a full size QWERTY keyboard and a touchpad for convenience of typing messages and navigating page to page. The optional touchscreen also allows users to work intuitively and quickly via multitouch gestures, finger taps and swipes across the screen.

In addition, the HP features a large, 10.1-inch diagonal LED display, available in either WSVGA or HD resolutions. With the Broadcom HD video decoder card, the Mini 5103 can playback 720p and 1080p high definition (HD) video without noticeable lag.

The manufacturer offers either a four-cell battery for lighter weight or optional six-cell battery for longer battery life. When configured with the optional six-cell battery, the HP Mini 5103 delivers up to 10 hours and 15 minutes of operation.

The HP Mini 5103 also includes HP DayStarter, a software program that allows users to check their activities through a customized 12-hour calendar display that offers quick access to appointments and battery status, all while Windows boots.
